You're right about one thing, mothers day is extremely important to me. And yes.... I'm glad I'm alive today. But guess what? My parents just like me would have never considered abortion. Just like me, they're Christians too and I'm sure were happy to have conceived a child. At the same time Mr. Purdy, a lot of parents werent as great as mine and yours. I personally don't care why they choose to abort a child, because if someone thinks about getting an abortion do you think that child will be given a chance by that family that were willing to destroy it? Do you think they would love on a baby like mama and poppa Purdy did? Or would they treat that baby like a piece of trash that they were willing to have sucked out of their body and done away with? Adoption really is a nice thing, but like with anything else it's an extremely complicated process. I've never known anyone to personally have an abortion and I don't care to. But I'll fight for anyone's right to not have other people tell them what to do with they body.

Wingman you said laws don't prevent anything!!! I don't think I'm streaching it by saying that means USELESS!!! Laws absoultely will prevent almost everyone from putting a gun to my head. We both know that. I will agree with you if Romney is elected abortion will not stop immediatley. But he will sure take steps to stopping it. For the rest of your post I am having a hard time following what you are talking about.

I don't feel like making it illegal would be tramping on my rights as a woman. I feel like having to comply with Obamacare would be though!!

Vernonsdream don't worry about grammer I can't spell at all!! And I will say this debate is a healthy one. I'm not going to change your mind, and your not going to change mine. But to someone on the fence reading this we might. By reading your last post I believe we have established we are murdering a child. However you seem to think that murder is justified if the parents don't live up to are standards. If I understand you correctly you are saying that if a child is not going to have a good life by are standards he or she should die. I would ask you then when is it not alright to kill a child in those circumstances. What about a three year old living in those same circumstances is it alright for the mother to choose then. As for everyones right being defended. I would ask you what about the childs rights? Vernonsdream the reason I'm so passionate about this subject is I have a twelve year old daughter. Who was born into the circumctances you just described. Her old father is a convicted sex offender. Our church bus began picking her up at the tralier park she lived in, and her mother began coming to are church. She became a christian, and we got married eight years ago, and I have since adopted her as my own. My wife has told me that people told her she should consider her options, because of the circumstances she was in. Sorry this is so long just wanted to let you know why I am so passionte about abortion.

I don't have children of my own, but I've had a hand in raising my neice since she was born. I can't ever imagine having an abortion, even if I was raped. A beautiful baby isn't something that should be thrown away and forgotten.

I am a woman also, Joe Wesson's wife Jane. I agree with your comments on abortion. From the time of conception, it is a little human being. There are options that a woman has besides abortion. A baby is a gift from God and should be treated as such. Ask a woman that can not have children what her opinion of abortion is. Adoption is a wonderful thing for so many parents and children alike. I was blessed to have 3 sons and remember how it felt when I saw their little faces for the 1st time at birth. We did not have untra sound then. I just can not imagine killing something as precious as a little baby. I respect Romney/Ryan for their stand on abortion and many other problems that our country is going through. I feel they can bring God and respect back to the White House and help our nation heal from Obama's mess. ROMNEY/RYAN IN 2012.

Eric that is good point you made. It made me think so I went over that debate between Ryan and Biden. I do wish Ryan had made that statemnt. However what he was saying is he would concede those situations in order to save the rest. You are correct murder is murder, and for those children in those situation it is horrific. As posted earlier 1 out of every 4 children are murdered. And we all know that only a tiny amount of them are in the circumstances you have described. A vote for Romney is a huge step in the right direction for sovling the abortion issue!!!

What I'm saying is this. Just because something is a law does not mean everyone will abide by it. Just because you pass a law that says 'do not murder another human being', that will not stop some fool from doing it. People don't obey laws, they obey their morals. Please remember that. People obey THEIR morals, not yours and mine. I don't need a law to tell me when something is right or wrong, nor do most people if they just thought for a minute. I don't need a 'users guide' to tell me to drop and roll if I catch on fire lol. Abortion is legal but I never said it was right in my eyes. If it is in someone elses circumstance its beyond my control and anyone elses.

In no way am I saying that. Him/her/they will get what the judge decides per law vs crime. When obama publicly endorse's murder, I'll call his hand.

Wingman I agree with you not everyones is going to obey the law. But most do because they can weight out their decision. If I murder someone because I'm mad at them, I spend the rest of my life in prison. I am not willing to pay that price, and neither are most people. Do you think laws are put into place just so the people in authority can lord it over those who do not. Try to run a school for a day with no rules and see what you come up with. I agree your morales will keep you in check, because you have good ones. But if we let everyone just use their morales to guide them without laws. People could justify anything. And we would have total choas!!!

Personally I would like to think not. No one should be above the law, however that isn't the real world. The law is interpreted for the highest bidder in a lot of cases. I still believe in justice though, sooner or later.

Well as usual every debate on here turns into this when someone strikes a nerve or proves a point. I'm going to make this my last post. I hope that this great Nation doesn't follow the views of a few on this board and realizes what is at stake in this election. Hopefully Romney wins office Not that he is the savior or such a great man or leader but our other choice is a person who hates America and what is was built on and stands for!

If Obama gets four more years the United States is in trouble!! We all know it whether we want to admit it or not!!!

I have to go for the day, I think this has been a good debate all day long. Hopefully we will all take are vote a little more serious, and think about the candiates we have to choose from a little more.

I guess my closing statement would be this.

If I'm wrong in this debate I have taken away a womens right to choose!!!! And for that I am sorry!!! But if you are wrong in this debate you have murdered millions of innocent children!!!!
