Dang good point!
Now we all know them La dogs are just as good as anything in the whole USA so it ain't that they can't compete. And yet only 26 are even taking a shot at it in their own back yard. Is it just possible they know something about the area that we don't?

Yeah but how many yall usually have lol. See under my format. If I looked right. Indy would have the world hunt next yr cause the most dogs. Then if they had it again the next yr cause of more dogs. That would be ok to. It should go to where the most dogs come from. Might make different states step up and try to get it. Increasing hunt numbers or RQE numbers anyhow. Meaning ukc would make more

I think when it is all said and done, the policy is move it around enough to make it a realistic trip for everyone, some year, no matter where they live. A tough goal to have, prolly not really achievable but I can understand the reasoning. It's La.'s turn. I doubt they'll get another one for a good, long while.

Hasn't been determined yet Johnny. I would think it will be announced sometime the end of December to late January, providing all the details are worked out by then. I'll bet it is up North somewhere.

I always looked at the world hunt as this: just go win your cast; then worry about winning the next one. As long as you don't lose a cast, the winning overall will take care of itself. There are snakes and gators down here but they truly aren't the menace you guys make them out to be. Based on what I hear, porcupines are worse on them. Most dogs from the south have not seen them to be broke off them. Just like all the northern dogs have never seen an armadillo.
Now, we all know that each dog is different. You have some that shine in thick coons and others that arehard to beat in a cast that only scores 1 or 2 coons. But, that isn't a factor you should use to determine if you go or not.
I remember a few years back; a guy bought a hound that was 13 months old and was a Nite Ch. with 4 wins on the books....he had 5 receipts but one was thrown out due to a technicality. I mean, he was TOUGH in thick coons and small woods. We hunted him 34 nights..he treed 1 layup....nothing else.
No idea why there were not more dogs from LA. entered. How does the numbers compare to entries from here in past years? If they are comparable, someone may be jumping to improper conclusions.

We lost 2 of our RQE here one club shut down and the other just cancelled theirs, since after driving almost 600 miles to get left by my cast a AO I think I am done with UKC for a while .

Bam Bam will be in Salem

One more thing I would like to mention about the snakes..everyone is worried about rattlers. I work all over the state..literally. Every job we have; unless it is downtown somewhere..people warn you to watch out for the rattlers. I've been doing this a bit over 30 years and before that time, and during this time have run all over the woods both day and night. I can count the number of rattlers I have seen on my fingers and one of those was in east Texas.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if I owned a dog that I thought had a chance; I wouldn't let the place scare me off.
One more question and this might require some number crunching. How many dogs from LA. were even qualified to go? I have kind of been out of the game but don't remember seeing as many RQE's as there used to be.

Did UKC really move the World Championship, one of their/if not their most important hunt of the year to please 26 people?

Gosh, when your in GA isnt pretty much everything North?

Im in MN, Indiana Ohio Ill is about as far away for me as it is for you southern guys....IMO these are logical central locations with the club power to run a big hunt.

How would you southen guys feel about Canada next year? Since your so in favor of moving it around and all......

I dont know why it would need moved around, make it a central location, indiana is not called the cross roads of america for nothing. Plus where will you find better hunting.

I think BRAZIL INDIANA should be the host club, within just a short handfull of miles, clubs include, rockville, terre haute, greencastle, ellettsville, shelburn and more

20 miles from the Illinois line, 2 mile off interstate 70 to grounds, lots of lodging, excellant hunting and plenty of coon.

Heck why not measure exact distance from the east coast to the west coast and the exact distance from north to south and pick the EXACT geographical center of the US?

Heck why not Hawaii next year. Not many coon (real test for a dog) ya got some hot lava and volcanos (seperate the men from the boys) lots of stuff for the kids and wife to do. Heck if UKC. wants to ignore things like coonpopulation , hunting conditions and the number of hunters that will be able to make the trip why not Alaska 2014.

Larry, that would be nice for all hunters that live in Indiana(like u) but not so good for those that would have to drive 12-15 hrs every yr.

I am really starting to wonder if this thread is full of 14 yr old boys that just have nothing more to do than figure out the location of the world hunt. some of the ideas are rather comical. It moves every year and this is nothing new. if you want to hunt and get through the zones have at it. It looks like the fact that the SS stakes is that weekend has something to do with numbers being down with the heavy hitters. I can see where you would hunt for cash over a dog box and a trophy. I withdrew my hound at the RQE the other week, but if i had of made it through i was going to the world no matter where it was held.
