I thought you might like to see one of our old dogs that shows up in a lot of peds. this is Turpin's Kansas thunder. He was a very impressive tree dog.

This picture is of Thunder and a son of his we raised that shows up in a lot of peds also. He is known as Thomas' Missouri Bruiser.

A good lookin hound is a good lookin hound wether it is old or new. Sorry to go off topic.

Posted by hoovershounds on 12-16-2005 02:01 PM:

LOL
Yeah , that's about how my luck would go. He is such a spoiled baby. He won't just lay down on the ground outside and if he can't find something to lay on then he is will try to lay on your feet. He is out of WSHOW CH GRWCH GRFC GRCH PR Only In America & GRCH Backbone Little Anne so to keep this thread going where it should is there any historical sidearm breed dogs. The maternal grand sire on the Bitch's side is Turpin's KS Rink. I am not real up on the greats of Redbone's so i was wondering If he was a relation to the Turpins Kansas Thunder dog?

Posted by Turpin Redbones on 12-16-2005 06:37 PM:

Here is a picture of Turpin's Ks Rink. He was sired by Thunder and out of a Turpin's Amy which was sired by Hennings Chief also. He was a wonderful dog than ran and treed first night out. This troubles me that a lot our dogs and pictures are considered historical. Must be getting old.

One more picture you might enjoy. This is Turpin's Ks Lady (when I had her, her name was changed after I sold her). She is the mother of Rusty Red and this was her first night out after weaning the litter that rusty was out of. She was also a natural hard tree dog. She was also sired by Thunder.

Hey, thanks for the pics. Nuthin better than a good slober mouthed coondog on tree.

Comstock

Not to digress from the purpose of this thread but have to say Comstock is one of the reds I've always admired (love his head!). We have a son off him (and World Show Queen), and grandkids off him. We are also expecting a litter early January - the grandsire and dam are Comstock x Queen.

I drew

Lightning at Redbone Days about 10 years ago and he was about 12 years old. He had no teeth left in his head and not much left of his voice. But he disappeared and came hoofing down the road about a half hour later with a coon in his mouth that he caught somewhere and I think that was the only coon we scored on that night. I was kind of impressed. Holly Parker was handling the dog at that time.

This is-

A dog that is #3 in a line of 7 straight generations of Grand Nite Champion stud dogs that we are currently promoting. A picture I've been hunting for 2 years now.

Tomorrow

Hopefully tomorrow when my daughter comes for a visit she
has a couple of my old photos that were my fathers from
back in the 40's of Ring. He said that was the best hound that he had ever owned. You will see why he was named Ring.
