If you had read all my post you would had seen why the dogs were showing agression. Didn't bother to read about them staying in the house with lots of kids.
Next ,you can't see crap becouse i don't like haveing bitchs either.
Although I have one now............I love the JAGD breed and it is an agressive killer and I hope it stays that way. For a hundred years or more when you needed agression for a breed you added terrior. Natural kill instinct and it shouldn't be taken out. It should be just owned by people that know what they are doing with a well rounded HARD dog............I take it you didn't read were mine were sold for hog dogs and done very well at it...They were real hunters............

we

have two jagds a 5 year old female and a 7 mo old male
both are very agressive with game but neither have ever and i mean never shown aggresion towards other dogs or people. both love people and kids and enjoy running around the yard with hound puppies. jagds are just like any aggresive breed the potential is there but if you know what to look for you can nip it in the butt when they are little....

Yep and I hope that is the way the breed stays.

Great Picture!

Having owned and bred jagds for a while now, I got a real kick out of the above photo!!! That pig doesn't know what he's in for and the look on that Jagd's face tells it all. Things are about to change for that pig and if there are two of them, he ought to have a look over his shoulder if he wants to ever see his nuts again! I wish that were a video, I would love to see what happened next.

Josh, how is that male that you kept? I keep wishing I would have taken one of those for stud fee instead of the money. The little female I had here was a little to snipey in the head for my taste and I ended up selling her to a guy in UT.

I'm going to get one from Minten out of his Spike and Beanie cross this year and see if I can't get another litter out of Payton. I wish everybody had the chance to see what a good Jagd is like. It changes the way you think about dogs and what they can accomplish. If I could bring one dog back to life it would be Payton's sister Raven. I used to enter her in the Cur & Fiest comps. and I've never seen or heard about another Jagd in competition. She did really well and won several casts for squirrel and coon. She was a little on the small side but she didn't know it.

For all of you that are thinking about getting one. Make sure you have the time to put into them and watch out. You just about can't get away with unclipping one of them dogs without having some sort of adventure. Game dogs deluxe!!

Patterdale/Fell Terrier

How do the Jagds compare to the patterdale and Lakeland terriers? Particularly in locating ability. Ive owned Black Fells and was alway curious about the Jagds. Any of you gents have experience with both?

Dan - Google Jagd Terriers. It will give you a list of youtube videos. I watched 3 Jagds work a hog. I watched one get flipped clear out of the video and 3 seconds later he was back in the video....and getting a piece of action with VENGENCE!!!! I have worked around police dogs since 1974 and have never seen grit like I saw in the videos I watched. When I retire in a couple of years I would sure like to get a couple of Jagds to work on coyotes.

I use to sell JAGDS for hog hunting. A trainer friend of mine bought one and then went to the patterdales becouse the jagds were more dog than he wanted. The right strain is wicked. If you want a dog to go were ever and fight what ever they are the breed for you. Never had one aggressive toward people but everthing else was fare game. They are protective though and some one hits you they will get hurt. Good country kids friend as long as there other friends don't hit.

What strains were better for you? Any breeders in the states with these? Ive talked to friends that own patterdales and they claim the Jagds are over rated but I'd like to see for myself.

If your looking for a straight hole dog, then by all means the patterdale is probably the best choice. If your looking to free cast a dog in the timber and want to watch them track, find game and work that game then a jagd is probably the best route. Jagds are headstrong and stubborn and for **** sure not for a beginner dogman or woman.

Plus a jagd should readily go to water and actually show love for water the jagd was never ment to be a straight hole dog but actually a versatile terrier to be used on a wide range of game.

The patterdale terrier has probably stayed truer to form here in the USA because they are bred to be a hole dog and lets face it not everyone wants to carry a shovel with them when they go hunting. So not as many "breeders" have bred them for profit. Where the jagd is stacked as being the most versatile hunting dog in the world in a 20lbs package. You can see the dollar signs difference. This is where the crap comes into place and where guys reading what the dog is supposed to be and what they actually got becomes a problem. if anyone is really interested in these dogs or want to see some hunt , I live in southern Iowa and live to hunt and would be glad to yack on the phone also.

I have little interest in digging to a dog, im more interested in free casting.

Wild Boar Jagdterriers

I breed and train jagdterriers for nuisance wild boar control. I try to get all my stock from tested proven sources. I have Croatian, German, Bosnian and Serbian imported lines and some proven domestic boar dog lines in my kennels.

See video of my jagdterriers at hog dog trial on my website. First and last time at such trials for us. Jagdterriers made the catahoula curs look like sissys, so we were banned!!! (;
