You have to handle the dogs. If you don't call interference/time out Both handlers are scratched for handling their dogs. Time called, Dog A scratched, line through the points, move to next hunting spot.

When did they change the fighting rule? I thought if the agressor could not be determined both dog get scratched.
They were fighting before handled so they were scratched for that before any other action happened wern't they?

Grady - The guy stated that they watched Dog A peel Dog B off the tree. I quoted him in earlier in the thread.

THATS RIGHT SEND THEM PACKING.....SOME OF THESE ANSWERS I AM SEEING MAKES ME START TO UNDERSTAND ALL THE QUESTIONS AND SUCH AT THE HUNTS.....ALOT OF PEOPLE JUST DONT UNDERSTAND THE RULES....

Some of you folks have me scratching my head, too. The rules state IF THE AGGRESSOR IS KNOWN the aggressor is scratched. It was stated that Dog A was watched peeling Dog B off the tree Dog A is the known aggressor. It makes no difference who is on top after the fight started. If you sucker punch me in the face and I end up cleaning you clock....who started it?

The very first post says the aggressive dog was not known. That's what I was going on.

I was on cast Friday night. Originally a 4 dog cast, but 1 withdrew. 3 dogs are cut loose. All dogs strike quick & 2 tree about 100-200 yds right up a field edge. The 2 dogs treeing start fighting but stop quickly. Cast closed the distance & they start fight again. The 2 dog owners rush in to handle the dogs before the 5 is up. The agressor of the fight was not determined.
How should this tree be scored?

When you say the aggressor was not determined I assume that you're saying it was not known correct?

If so and based on your account as posted, both dogs are scratched from the cast and reported for fighting per Rule 6(b). You wouldn't score the tree because both dogs treed were scratched prior to the tree having been scored. The tree becomes open again including first and second positions for any other dog. Rock on!

I understand the first post. No doubt when unknown both scratched but another question was asked along the way and my reply was to that post.

Hey guys, I've learned this specific matter includes a Formal Complaint having been filed. So to be fair to all involved the matter it would probably be a good idea to leave it at that for now. Thanks.
