My wife had never been hunting in her life. Our first coon season dating I didn't go out like I normally do. The next 2 season it was all go. Her first time going She had a good time. Her 2nd time going was when she was 6 months prego and took it all 3 drops.

When we got married my great uncle married us. We went to his house to talk about our wedding stuff and talked about that for 10 min. Then spent about 2 hours talking coon hunting.

We left Jakes house and she said " No d___ cooning stories UNTILL you say I do!"

LOL she doesn't mind when I take off she just doesn't understand the money spent on a new light and waders and a new dog box LOL!!

Well it was before she was the mother in law and you know you can't waste it.

Been married 5 years now, and have hunted hard all the time. The wife was oringaly from Flint Mi. and for the first 4 years she hunted as much as I did. She has slowed down now that we have a baby, but she still makes it to the woods some. I could not ask for a better freind or wife. I thank God for that every day. Keep lookin I am sure that there is a unselfish gal out there some were.

a coonhunting woman

I have dealt with this, only the OTHER way around. I have 3 hounds, and a border collie, and I used to have about 7 dogs at a time. Between working with my hounds, hunting, and doing agility trials with my border collie, my boyfriends couldn't STAND it! I lost quite a few because they made me choose between my dogs and their activities, or my boyfriend. So I said "goodbye" to him, and kept right on goin with my dogs at my side. I finally found a great man who has 3 coonhounds of his own, and a lot of our great memories and dates have been spent in the woods with the hounds. Your right girl is out there! Just do NOT settle for the city-chicks that think a "dog" is a rat-like creature that works better as a slipper (or a football if they get too annoying ha).
Now, I have dealt with some men who cannot STAND the thought of a woman hunting, and they have given me a great deal of grief about it. But I don't argue or pick a fight with them. I just tell them give it a few months, and we will let our dogs do the talkin. (;

i know how you feel one thing about a women and a dog you can both make them happy but the dog wil be alot cheaper in the long run

First thing is my wife means more to me than anything else does. My wife of 14 years has never said anything about me hunting but since our son has been born I have put my family first I hunt as hard as any man can but if she told me tonight you quit or I'm leaving I would sell everything and ride out the storm because no dog is worth my son of wife.

Wives and coonhunting...

I always said I don't want one that works beside me or goes coonhunting with me. Maybe that's why I'm 27 and single

I really wish hubby had more time to hunt. He only gets home about 4-6 days a month and just vegs. on the chair his whole time home. I have 2 that need to get started. A friend brought a a nice walker male down for a trainer and we still ain't got out yet. Yeah, imagine...A WHAT???? A WALKER? o.O I know, I know, but he is a super nice NEUTERED male.

I'm so use to hubby being gone, heck, I would love if he would go hunting every night.

I take mine fishing alot and to play golf alot in the summer. She knows when it's ok to talk, she knows when to stay quiet. She can make me look like a fool at either. So I don't take her hunting, because I have to have something.

If you find one that's dumb enough to think she's going to change you, she's probably going to end up with half your stuff. lol
