You would think so, but we have our share of people that get the shivvers just at the thought of any snake.

Got this one tonight! It was about 20 or 30 feet from where the dogs were treed. It was a little over 4 feet long. Don't know how many rattles it had, my uncle got a little wild with the limb and beat them off. Could have been a bad night.

That IS a nice one!

How about copper heads around were the kids are playing. Anyone know how to get rid of them? Have killed three in the last week here at the house. I don't care if they are in the woods but they are getting to close to home.

Get a pig! Snake won't go around a pig. I used to raise my pigs about 300 yards from my house. One day I went into the barn and a racer that had been living in it struck at my son who was a toddler at the time. I hit it with a tobbaco stick and then grabbed it behind the head. I went to give it to the pigs, and when I got about 100 yards from the pig pen the pigs went nuts. The snake wrapped so tightly around my arm I had to beat it nearly to death to throw it to the pigs. Watching little pigs fight over a snake is good entertainment!

That might be an idea but the inlaws house is about 300 yds away and not sure how well that would go over.

Somebody did't get enough of his tail LOL. My season runs from mid October till March. You would think they would take care of the moccasins but the don't. I just keep the dogs put up. Might as well have wolves around here.

Father in law got a copper about 10 feet from the last place I got one like the day befor. Would mouth balls hurt the wifes house dogs if they ate some? She lets them out in the yard to run and I sure don't want the but chewing for killing one of her precious crap eaters.

Moth balls or Snake way

I wasted alot of money on this stuff. These things keep rodents or RATS away supposedly. I sit on my deck & my redbone Maggie lets me know when a snake is swimming in the Swamp Long locating bawl. Then out comes my 410 with no 6 shot & pooof the snake is gone. lol
