Wow, this story keeps on changing. Now given these new set events, I am back to scratching dog #3 for, lets call it.... face barking and causing the fight. Zam defended himself, this is expected when another dog shows aggression.

Boonetreecoon....the night you were talking about when your dog left and the other dogs were at the tree walking around growling.....the one dog on the tree is PERFECTLY TRAINED! He sticks the teeth to all the dogs at his tree and becomes "LIGHT SMART". Meaning he acts like nothing is going on when there are lights coming through the woods.

I can't say this enough Englishbabe....EVERY DOG WILL SNAP under certain circumstances. When my bluetick was 1-1/2 years old, a 5 year old enormous black an tan started to get aggressive with him right in front of me (10 feet in front of me). There was nothing I could do, it happened so quick. My sweet playful young bluetick that is so careful with my kids.......HOLY CRAP, you should have seen him. He pounded the crap out of this dog.

Like I said, every dog has it in them, it does not mean that you dog is "mean" he just isn't at the bottom of the hierarchy.

Anybody in this forum that says their dog won't fight is disillusioned!

dogs

You should have started the clock on the dog staying at your feet, and minused the other for leaving the tree. That's why it's important for everyone to handle their dogs , to stop making a situation to encourage this at a tree.

Not sure exactly what the purpose of this thread is. Not sure why ur upset. Your dog got to withdraw instead of being wrote up for fighting. You win. And people talk about the money hunts being shady!

Was upset that this happened and knew Zam didn't have a mean bone in his body. Mainly the post was for people to explain to me why this happened and the reason behind it. I knew all about the scratching for fighting, etc. rules, I just wanted to try to understand why it happened the way it did. I'm no longer upset so much after getting the whole story now. Frank only gave me bits and pieces of the situation and was confused. After talking to the guy that had dog 2, I feel a lot better and after hunting him later that week and see him preform, I'm not upset at all anymore.

Thanks for all the info. folks, I appreciate it.

See my dog left the tree and came back into then they were walking around growling at each other. Your right the dog is perfectly trained. When the lights come in everythings done.

Talked to 3 different MOH tonight at the show and everyone of them said that dog 3 should have been scratched for 'interfering with another dog and aggressive behavior' and that Zam should have kept hunting. Live and learn I guess.
