Nobody here said the Masonic Lodge was a religion or that it would get you to Heaven, to the contrary I have stated more than once that it is NOT a religion, only a charitable fraternity based on good morals. That's all it is.

To those who would throw stones, you will only show your lack there of. Our forefathers put in place one of the oldest and largest fraternities in the world, before you throw stones you might want to check and see who wrote the laws by which we are governed. It was not meant to bring you salvation, but it sure won't hurt you any. Look around you my friend, theres more to life than what your seeing.

No stones tossed but here I want to add my piece. My dad came from a family that was active in Masonry. Grandpa was a something or other and grandma with the Eastern Star. They lived good lives and trusted in their works to earn the grace they would need to enter heaven. Grandma followed the teaching of Mary Baker Eddy/Christian Science and grandpa attended the Methodist Church. Dad says they never argued on faith and never held to any teaching that was over another. My dad grew up hearing and being taught that grace is earned by being good, that God or god weighs our deeds. So hear me, I am not saying that this is what Masonry teaches but in that atmosphere of his home and influence of Masonry my dad had no assurance of salvation, only the sense that he was never going to be good enough. Dad, as a young husband and father, found assurance of salvation in Jesus death and resurrection...no works to add to earn His favor. Grandma and grandpa tried to work and pay their way into heaven, I doubt that it worked but I am not their judge. I will leave you fine folks with this link to a hymn that holds up Jesus above all else. If it ministers to what your heart needs I am glad. If it irritates you I mean no harm. I welcome any who are trying to make this world a better place but I believe there is only one way to do that that will last for eternity.
