Guys that don't admit to.. or don't want to hear about flaws in their dogs. Some of them manage to find plenty of flaws in others dogs.. but never their own. There just dogs people.... noone has a perfect one.

my pet peeve is people whining about what everyone's else dog does and doesn't stop to look at what their dogs are doing. and i also hate those people that show up to a hunt in the spring/summer and leave their dogs in the box for 3 or 4 hours during a bench show waiting for the cast to draw. If i were animal control these dog's would be going with me. I also hate people who get on here talking about coon hunting like they are very intelligent and can't even spell what they are trying to say which half the time makes no sense even if it was spelled right. Also, Yes my dog does bark on the chain at a hunt, Yes I let him do it. If you don't like it don't show up! I hate people who run down how often other people hunt. I'm sorry we're not all a professional who puts wife, family, job and other IMPORTANT responsibilities behind of coon hunting. I'll tell you what though i'd rather have a pay check and a rusty dog than a top notch dog and my family in the poor house.

People who get on this site and complain about being off the topic, if the only thing we had to talk about was coon hunting, it would get a little boring!
If us coon hunters cant go hunting we go here! I think its a great place to mingle! dont you think?

Posted by wrangler on 12-03-2009 03:05 AM:

Running for sale ad's on dogs and not putting where your location is.

Also like some one's already said driving over to a so called friends house and they throw all their junk in your truck ready to go.

I also had a young guy start hunting with me and I bought the drink's. I bought every time for about a month one night I did not turn toward town he ask me your not going to the store. I told him I was broke he said I'll like to go to the store so I turned around and he did not want to buy me anything. SO now Im really BROKE and he's looking for someone to hunt with.

Posted by Buckshot on 12-03-2009 03:10 AM:

My pet peeve is those that post the sire and dam of the pup/dog they just bought and then ask what kind of dogs the sire and dam are.

I guess some rather not know what they are buying until after the bought it.

with all due respect, may I ask why you allow him to annoy your fellow coonhunters when its very easy to teach them not to?

maybe if I understood your logic, I could scratch this peeve off my list.

Older coonhunters who think they know everything
Close minded people who think their way is the only way to do something, especially when it comes to dogs.
Folks who treat dogs like tools instead of living things.
And my biggest one, a** holes, especially ones that coonhunt. Just no need for it. lol

Justin you my friend are ignorant. Why don't you put a bag, not a sack over youre head and breath in. My goodness!! Who cares what the world looks like to you, I know I sure don't and I highly doubt anyone else on here does either.

I 100% agree with the old coonhunters thinking they know everything but the one that ticks me off is the ones that HATE to get beat by a young hunter. There's way to many of them.

Older hunters that listen to what you have to say then laugh because they have already done//seen it all in there 30 years. Let me tell you ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLl something. IT'S NOT VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF COON HUNTING, TO OWN A DOG THAT CAN STRIKE AND TREE A COON IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE AND IT SHOULD BE VERY EASY TO REALIZE WHAT A COON DOG IS IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN WITH ONE.

Please explain to us all why you let youre dog bark on the chain or in the dog box?? I think we are all dying to know. Is it that you want everyone to know the style of youre dogs mouth or do you just like aggervating people?

If you didn't care , you wouldn't have taken the time to respond ... that shows you care .

Something that I learned along time ago ... that might help yall ... when we asked a guy if it bothered him that some folks were cussing him ... he said ...

What people think of me is none of my business....

That is about as straight forward and honest as it gets! i would love to see more people on this board who feel this way!!!

elvis, first off in my personal opinion a dog is a dog and barking is what they do. Our club is close knit with about a quarter of the club being family. If someones dog annoys you, you holler at the dog yourself, or you tell the person "hey bubby shut that dog up" i've never had this happen, if it annoyed someone or bothered someone believe me i'd hear about it. also by the time the dogs get casted out most of the other dogs who were quiet at the club, babble their heads off, guess who's dog doesn't babble when we turn loose? thats right mine, and i normally still get 1 to 3rd strike.
so if no one complains it obviously doesn't bother anyone, plus if it helps my dog in the competition then i'm all for it.

i think i know what your thinking now. no body says anything to him that's all everyone just ignores it. Well let me enlighten you i'm between trucks and broke at the moment, so a friend of mine takes me to the hunt and we often draw in seperate casts. I have always been able to find a ride in my cast no matter who i draw and at the end of the hunt i always by the person breakfast of give them gas money or something. If i annoyed people at the club do you think they would still give me a ride? i personally think not.

maybe theyve been told that if they dont like it, dont show up?

That is interesting logic though. If you let your dog bark whenever it wants to, because barking is what dogs do, then it wont babble when it gets turned loose.
That theory never crossed my mind.
