i like hounds but i've never had a good one. i think it's my fault because i wasn't smart when i picked them.. i've got two plotts and neither is much account. i've got a stephens and a kemmer cur. both a red hot and don't know what quit is. now i'm pretty sure i'll get either a stephens or kemmer in my next dog. sure like hounds though. like someone said, i'm getting too old to waste much time on picking another losser.

Just like most of us older hunters I started out with grade dogs, some of them might not even have been quite full hound. Two of the best was a blue female that showed to be partly Airedale and her daughter who was red and still showed Airedale around her face.My all time best hound was a pure Trigg female called Queen. My best reg. dog and best dog I ever trained Myself was a Walker female called Annie. Most of My best dogs have been Walker females but My best dog now is a Bluetick male so I guess You can tell I'll follow anything that suites Me.
English Hounds
I'm 55 and been huntin' English Hounds since POPEYE was a sissy.Ain't never had a problem with 'em.They are hard hunters with lotsa grit and good noses.
