The way to fix this is leave it alone, because if you have a good enough hound that has what it takes and you guys are right, after the first few shows the ball will be bouncing in your court and it will be up to the rest of us to stop it.
JUST LET THE WINNER HAVE HER DAY IN THE SUN AND BE HAPPY FOR ALL THOSE INVOLVED!!
Good job ""FANCY GIRL""

This is interesting, I have to agree with Jr Lassitor and oh how that hurts me to do that lol . That makes twice this year Jr !!
The more you try to bring in to it the more problems you will have, there are better things to try to improve on. Its not broken so dont try to fix it. The people that want to show will be there no matter what. I know some states you have to be a member of their ASSOC. to be able to win state titles. If the P R people join up than thats more money for the State Assoc. Win Win situation.
Alot of people have nice hounds but they are blind to their faults and think they are being screwed by the P R dogs and their not they are just showing against better dogs. Watch and learn from these events and improve what you got if you cant then go to the winners and get what they have. I would take it as a compliment if I were getting beat by dogs out of my kennel.
Just my thought wich really doesnt mean a thing to most!

shows are way to subjective. Thats why i stick to the hunts.
I know I am going to get in trouble for saying this but...maybe it isn't your dog that the so called state level show people are afraid of but the politics that go along with the PR, if those of you that are running the PR get beat by a local state dog all the trash talk starts. I am not whining about anything, I have won more than my share and lost the same amount, I know that what one judge picks one day is not what the next judge will pick at the next show, I do not run the PR , I have run those races and you spend more than it is worth and the next year most people forgot or just don't care who won it the last year! It is a great honor to win these events, but it is not for everyone and to say that your PR dogs are the best, well you better look around in the woods, just down the road you are going to get beat!! Why can't things be left alone? Leave the PR the way it is, and the way this thread is sounding is like if you don't run in the PR your dog isn't good enough so lets separate the PR classes, well I don't think that is the case and like Jr says...Let the winner have her day in the sun and show people you are happy for them!! Good Luck to all!!
junior l.
Jr. all this thread is about is that the Purina race could pay more to the winner . and that it takes away from the entry's at state level no matter what state your from. and you could have a prestige event that pays way more to the winner then it does know. how hard is that to understand.. its not at all about weather anyone or any dog doesn't deserve to win . and if you have a good enough dog you feel then any one could get in the Purina race weather its a open or grand in ukc//akc.. or any other registry. this would be a event of its. own. paying back way more to the winner. and still have that prestigious title.. who in there right mind would be against a year long race that pays back say 10 grand that way those good dogs would come to the front fast.. people with good dogs would come and join the race for more money payback. this is about another event that doesnt take away from the prestige's state title, and bring more dogs to the state events also .. you could still show these same dogs at your state events . myself that's the way i see it. I've won at all aspects in the game from local to world titles . I've lost more then I've ever won anybody that says they haven't ,, has memory loss. this could be debated forever .. Purina has these ideals by know and we will see what they come up with.. hopefully a good year long event for those top notch dogs.. as the age old slogan goes give credit where credit is due ..

well said sue .. i would just like to see another good event that would pay back a good payday. to the winner. and be fair to all. one dog and handler and go for it. i think they would be several good dogs in it.. it would be an event that people would rember.

i just wonder how politics go on in the pr when sometimes you
are 1000 miles from home.you never win under the same
judge, its your st. you pick the judges.
There are politics in anything you do...dog shows are not exempt !!!!
you are so right , politics are in almost ever aspect of life.

adding more money to purina race.
Why in the world would anyone want to see more money added to the ukc purina race shows. PKC is a good example of how money and cut throating can really be. BAD IDEA.
POLITICS
I DONT SHOW MY DOGS ON THE BENCH I ENTER NITE HUNTS BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT ANYBODY WHO THINKS POLITICS DONT PLAY A PART IN BENCH SHOWS IS AN IDIOT. AND YOU PEOPLE CAN NOT READ. WHOEVER STARTED THIS POST DIDNT SAY ONE THING ABOUT THE WINNER DIDNT DESERVE TO WIN. THEY ASKED A QUESTIN ABOUT DO THESE SHOWS AFFECT THE TURN OUT. YOU PEOPLE WENT OFF THE DEEP END ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER SAID. GROW UP AND STOP ACTING LIKE LITTLE KIDS.

I have been thinking about this.
The problem is not the way the purina program is set up. If we have politican going on then we need to be on our local or state assn. to get better judges with more integeraty and are more compitent.
When the owners and handlers go to shows all we do is travel lots of miles and spend lots of money, and handle our hounds to the best of our ability. We don't choose the winners, the judges do.
If you change the system you are still not going to be satisfied, and one big reason is there are judges out there that have never read through all the breed standards must less know what they mean. YES THERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGES!
THERE IS TWO KIND OF PEOPLE;; Those who work hard to make things happen, and make them happen in their favor.
Then there is those who work hard thinging up excuses why things didn't happen in their favor... WHICH GROUP ARE YOU IN!!
