I would like to take you to some of these places that are a "little rough" as you put it. More like a lot dangerous. Must I remind you that my area is home to the "highest peak east of the Mississippi"!

Not saying every where I go I have it butt I would say this is a club problem if it happens alot with the same guide it should be UKCs problem

So if you are openly admitting you hunt places where you have no permission, what is the point of your scenario?
Your looking at it as if walking in someone's house where they may be doing lord knows what is the same as hunting on their property where you have no permission!
That comparison is as far in left field as the other guy made about taking a car just because the keys were in it!

i dont believe it is so far left field, plain and simple if you dont own it or have permission stay off of it. its a different situation if you didnt turn loose there and you are only retrieving your dog.But that means you leave weapons in the truck and only grab your dog and go.

Comparing walking into someones home and hunting on land with no permission is rediculous and way out in left field!
You can't say retrieving your dog off land you have no permission to hunt is not as bad as just plain going hunting on it!No permission is NO PERMISSION regardless of the reason, do not try to justify it for your situation! If you really felt like you say, you should never, ever, turn your dog loose somewhere that you know they may possibly get on someone you do not have permission to hunt!
I still want to know, how many of you hunters who say you should not hunt somewhere you do not have permission, can honestly say you have a big enough area to hunt that this will not happen and can you swear that you NEVER turn loose where it may happen?

how isnt it if you are casting your dogs on permission you dont have permission to hunt is totally disrespectful, if your just retrieving your dogs yours trying to respect other people property as much as possible. there situations were you cut loose on private property or state land for that matter and my dogs have got off on someones land, and i try to respect that by just grabing my dogs and moving on. Which i have every right to by law.It would be hard to cut your dogs loose here and guarentee that your dog would go on someones land,i just saying if that happens respect it.

Based on your argument, if you really respect it, you would not turn loose somewhere that your dogs may get on someone you do not have permission!
That is like saying " Well, I have this half acre I have permission to be on but if the dogs get off of it, I will only retrieve my dogs so that is ok"!

Rediculous!!!

you must have thousand of acres to hunt were you are at, because were im from most people at most have around 80 or so, i also hunt farms with hundred of acres and dogs still on occassion get of on other land. sounds like your trying to get someone to say it ok to go on someone elses land with out permission and its not going to happen

If you are referring to me, I could care less what someone else says. It is hard to tell by your post who you agree or disagree with!
All I am saying is, that if everyone that coon hunted stopped turning their dogs loose in places they know they have a high probability of getting on someone whom they do not have permission to hunt, 95% of people who coon hunt would have to get rid of their dogs and quit! And the other 5% would be questionable! Why is this ideaology so hard for some of you to understand? I am sure there are a few registered users on this forum that probably have several places they can hunt and know without a doubt that they will have permission where ever they go on one of those properties, but for the majority, I would say 95% of people who coon hunt can't say that and if they did, it would most likely be a lie!!! Don't kid yourself!
So, to the 5% that are blessed and have places they can hunt all night on and be on the property they have permission to hunt (which I doubt) count yourself lucky but do not act like you are holier than thou cause I am sure you have hunted somewhere you shouldnt have in your time!
This thing about retrieving dogs being ok does not flush because if you hunt somewhere you know you can get on someone who you do not have permission then that is even more low down than someone just out right hunting it because you are trying to hide behind some loophole to make it ok in your mind to do what you are doing!
Those of you who really wish to say "do not be on property you do not have permission to be on", I challenge you to never hunt on any of your spots ever again that you have ended up on someone's property you either did not know or did not have permission to be on, and in the future, if you hunt one of your spots and this occurs, you should cull that spot as well. This challenge only goes out to those who really and truly believe the idea of "not being on property you do not have permission to be on". Lets see how many hunting places you have after that!

How about HighWays

I've hunted a certain club and the same guy has took us to his house where he has feeders. Well the problem is there is a major Highway 325 yards for where we hunt and he turns directley over the hill towards it. I've withdraw twice because of it and had a chance to win my cast both times. Heck, I was leading the cast the first time. I've heard of two dogs getting killed from him guiding too but the club continues to put him down as a guide. I think I have the right to make him take us somewhere's else or appoint us a guide. I think someone should be scratched for putting u in a situation like that where your dog could get killed. I'm I wrong or not. He's a nice person and thats why I didn't say anything the first time but gas is to high and money to tight to just throw it away. Maybe I'm wrong but I want withdraw the next time but I'm not turning a loose neither, we can go back to the club and discuss it.

I do not blame you and am surprised everyone else does not refuse to hunt there!
