Prayers...

... we are still sending them... How wonderful to hear of his reaction to you. When you can visit keep talking about the hounds! I know when my greyhounds old owner was getting older and more sick as time passed... the times I spent visiting with the hounds and talking about them MADE her days....
We will continue to pray, Heather

Update.................

Lester was moved on Saturday to the 6th floor progressive unit, he is doing some better..................

He spoke some words on Sunday, he saw my mom ( his sister), and my 2 sisters standing beside his bed and he smiled really big and said..."What are you all doing".........even though he had the Trec in, they said you could still hear the words......!!!!

This is nothing short of a MIRACLE............answered by God....!!!

He is still not moving his legs, but can squeeze your hand with his right hand, he had the catheter removed, the bacteria in his lungs is gone....he is taking 50% of the liquid food through the feeding tube........

He is not completely healed, but man what a HUGE improvement........................................................................

I will keep everyone updated and once again thank everyone for the prayers, you know who you are..........................
But, I know God has laid his healing hand on an uncle that I love dearly.......................Thank you......................Timl

Nice News!

Really heart warming to see this progress. Simple words can have SO MUCH MEANING! I always felt that way... I had been a therapeutic riding instructor and LOVED to see people with brain injury or any disability that limited them do a NEW thing... even a tiny thing... Once I got brain injury and had my own slight limitations(mine is mild).... I realized some of those tiny steps REALLY are triumphs! For me it's energy as i have really big fatigue...SO... I find I have to be pleased doing an extra chore here and there. When I get grumpy and frustrated at myself...perhaps feeling a bit sorry for myself... wishing I could be the "old me" again.... I remind myself...#1 I'm lucky to be alive #2 that my problems are so slight #3 NO BODY IS PERFECT!
SO... seeing these "small" improvements made me SMILE big time as I"m winding down for bedtime... took away a day full of stress and I will go to sleep HAPPIER...and I'll be giving God an extra THANKS!
Bob and I are still praying! Heather

Update..............

Just to let everyone know, Lester is still hanging on..........its been a little over 3 months since his double Stroke, he is still in UK, not as alert, and they are giving him blood ( bleeding from his Colon ), they are not sure what that is about just yet.

All I ask is for the prayers to keep coming.............

One thing is for sure, he is a fighter..............................Tim

Still Praying!

ONce they get the bleeding controlled perhaps he'll get some more alertness back? For me even just having iron deficiency anemia I find my energy level is so low that I'm not too alert. Then again...those who know me here at home might question if I'm EVER alert.... Seriously, Bob and I are hoping that Lester's fighting will will bring him back to some better quality health.... and we continue to pray for him
and his family.....

Thanks for another update, Heather and Bob

Update.........

Just to let everyone know, Lester has been doing OK, the Docs were wanting to turn him over to Hospice on 9-21, said he just wasnt going to make it. Then on Tuesday the 22nd the Docs got to witness him wide awake and moving his head, THEN, he spoke to them and asked for my Mom ( his sister).........The Docs were amazed, on this past Monday they were trying to ween him off the breathing machine ( Bi-Pap, I think ), he was off the machine and breathing on his own for 6 hours.

In 9 more days it will be 4 months..........someone is listening to the many prayers being sent, God hasnt taken Lester yet, he is still with us for some reason.............Keep the prayers coming............Thanks......Tim

I will be seeing him on Sunday, if he is awake and smiling I am taking a few pics of him and might post one on here...............................Thanks again to EVERYONE, way to many names to mention on here.................Tim

Update..............

Just to update everyone...............

I didnt make it down to see Lester, the doc's are kind of restricting the visits somewhat, they dont want him catching anything because it could set him back really easy in his condition.
He is doing better, no breathing machine, no meds, no infections.

He is staying awake and alert almost around the clock, sleeping very little, but after 4.5 months of sleep he is prob all caught up...LOL.

If he continues to improve, he will be moved to a LongTerm Care facility in Louisville,Ky.

The prayers are def working, keep them coming, and as soon as I make it down there I will get a couple of pics of him.

Thank you so much......................Tim

Update................

Just to update everyone, Lester is still at Louisville, Ky.
He is still about the same, very alert, his Docs said to just take it day by day, but that they feel he will stay in this condition for the rest of his life. But they also said the Speech Therapist was very pleased with his progress.

Only God knows the outcome of this, it will soon be 6 months since his Stroke, BUT, he is still alive, that in itself is a Miracle.

Thanks and will keep you updated......................Tim
