What ever brand, my choice would be a .45 acp. If you are using it for protection there is no equal. I had a Kimber Custom CDPII with a 4.5" barrel and it was real nice. Also had a Para Ordinance Wart Hog with a three inch barrel. That was a little beast. Didn't shoot bad but you had to hold on to it. Would fit in my pocket and held 11 rounds of .45 acp. Talk about a pocket full of lead. Not bad on price either. My father in law has a few also, couple 9's and some .45's and a .40. I like the two Wilson Combat .45 the best. A little more money but they never fail.

LOL, who on earth told you that?? Sig does "torture tests" on random firearms from every lot of slides and frames. You can fire a Sig under water, you can bury it in the sand then pick it up and shoot it, and you can drop it in the mud..step on it, then pick it up and shoot it. It will fire and not jam while doing so. Dont believe me?..get your hands on one and try it..just hose it off when you're done playing and lube the slide with a dry lube. Nobody can put one through worse than what the QA team does to them before they leave Exeter NH. This is why they're the choice of almost all Tacticle and Law Enforcement teams through out the world.

I have shot many rounds from a Sig P220 for Law Enforcement qualifications and sport shooting, never once had a jam or a malfuction for that concern. I know of a few agencies in the area here that stopped the use of Glock due to the overheating and warping when fired repeatedly at the range. I didn't like Glock when I tested them before I bought my Sig,felt cheap and backed by the facts stated above choose a Sig. If I were not carrying a Sig I would have to lean towards a H&K. Glock may be a choice in some states, but overall the Sig is the #1 choice worldwide for law enforcement and tactical user,FACT...

Guns are users choice, some shoot cheap and some shoot more expensive reliable weapons, it's all a matter of personal choice..

I'll stick with a Sig anyday....

i love my XD sub compact 9mm for carrying, it shoots a lot better than my glock did, as far as SIG goes i would have to say its the best pistol ive ever shot, our department just issued the P220 in the 9mm, WOW its a shooter, as soon as sig comes out with a nice sub compact i will be buying it, and those of you that doubt he 9mm's knock down power especially with my hydra shocks why dont you come be my test dummy and we will find out lol, if i was to go bigger than the 9mm it would be the 45 cal, the 40 cal in my opinion doesnt have the accuracy of either of those, what happens if you get in a shoot out at 25 ft instead of 10ft or closer, now this doesnt happen everyday i understand, BUT isnt that why we have these hand guns for the what if's in life, also if you went with the berreta i dont think you would be disappointed either but my TOP pick is the SIG but this is just my personal oppinion

I never doubted the knock down power of a nine but a .45 I would think would have much more with hydroshocks just like what I had in mine. The advantage of lots more rounds in the 9 might be worth it though. I wouldn't think you would need 15 rounds or what ever some of them will hold but if I needed them I sure would like to have them. The 40 would not be my first choice either. Have only shot a couple but my 45 was much better.

PlottChaser,

I didn't know that there were any Plotts around the Pinckneyville area? You did get that cleared with Allen Jackson & Chuck Logan to have Plotts in a Walker neighborhood, didn't you???????? LOL
