My buddy asked me to chime in on this post. I told him how it would end up. Always a few "experts" on this topic.

Argue with yourself, I dont have the time.

I gotta ask what your credentials are? Your peer reviewed articles are in what journals? You have been interviewed how many times? You have provided expert testimony in court how many times? How many episodes of National Geographic have you been in?

Just as I thought, no to all.

Ok Indiana Jones. I'm still waiting to hear what your credentials are. Again, you got nothing.

One day you will grow up and realize that time is better spent doing something productive.

I have never arrogantly boasted here like you. I have no credentials that would apply here, just a lot of knowledge, which I share at will. I have written and published one book and working on a couple more. You seem to be a very angry person, with some personal issues...like maybe, you hate your job(s), & life! This could have been a good thread, with some learning possibilities, seems like you scared everybody away, but you keep everybody laughing! Go shovel some dog poop yellerdog.

We found a fossil-lized (sp) turtle today. Only had my camera phone and dont have the connections to download pics. It is a trip never seen anything like it. My friend is getting in touch with a local college to let them take a look and see exactly what we got. We also found 4 nice chunks of fossil-lized wood. All were about 4 feet deep.

Just as I though an "Expert" with no knowledge about what he is arguing about.

Carry on, you can type all of these peoples projectile points and tools. Please do, I am anxiously awaiting your analysis.

I have lived in a creek bottom all my life and we have found hundreds of arrowheads over the last 40 years of collecting them, we have found some clay pipes. We have only found one axe head. We have seven springs within a 1/4 mile of the house. A friends wife has a doctorate in anthropology, she came an looked at some mounds, eleven of them close to the biggest spring and she thinks they are teepee/lodge mounds, built up to keep water out. I need to figure out how to post a picture, we had a person call us up, they were excavating, building chicken house pads and came across literally a hundred or more round limestone "balls", they are about the size of a volleyball, they obviously have been carved into as round a ball as they could. I picked up four or five of them after I promised I wouldn't let anyone know where I got them. Does anyone have an idea what they are or what they might have been used for. My daughter has the best eye for arrowhead hunting I've ever seen, after we plow she will go out and find a bunch of them, the ground has been worked so much over the years it's hard to find a perfect one.
The neighbor has found a cannon ball in the creek, half of a rusted up calvary saber and a piece of confederate horse buckle.

Found on upland terrace near but above and on slope to Savannah River floodplain, Alendale County SC. On surface of recently turnplowed small highly erodible field, Lot of chert chips also on surface.
What tribe? and epoch?

No I have not until just now on Poastal Scales. The round one weighs 11.6 ounces and the flat one weighs more than my Pitney Bowes can read. Im guessing only two to three pounds. What does that have to do with it? I think it is quartz rock. It is colored Red due to the Allendale clay is what I guess. I can see some tiny Mica flakes in it where it has been rubbed. The larger flat side shows the most wear but not a lot. I am guessing that it was a relatively new outfit that had not been used much or maybe it was used for cracking Pecans and hickory nuts instead of grinding because of the lack of wear.

Not even a wild guess?
