Lets give that man a big AMEN!!!!!!!Seems like alot of whining going on 101 different reasons why you got beat keep them straight KENNY your doing a fine job!!!!!!!!!!
I would have to agree with kenny a coondog is a coondog. I don't know about anyone else but my dog don't know what state he is in all he knows is when i load him up in the box where goin huntin when i turn him loose he's lookin for coons to tree. He's not afraid of water cuase i have crossed enough rivers to know that bluffs hills i hunt them all year round. Thick molfulrose patches locus trees dry , wet conditions it don't matter he hunts in all of it. Bayous , swamps he's done it. Bottom line is gentlemen ukc has to spread this hunt around more I dont think non of us would show up anywhere to the world hunt if we didn't believe our dog had a chance to win. If you blame it on where it's at becuase your dog not use to huntin in thick or thin coon thats a lame acuse if you have a coondog he is going to find a coon or 2.Southern dog have won north northern dogs have won south and west has won east and so on and so on. Who ever had the best dog for those 3 days was crowned champion despite where he came from. I think the problem is everyone tired of having to drive to indiana for every big hunt there is time and time again. Move the world hunt around more thats it indiana world hunt last 7 it's been there now 5 times .
Bill might be in for the third term!!!!
People just need to leave the politics in their place.
I don't have a certified list of where World has been held, but if sheepster's list is true, what about North Carolina or Kentucky? NC is on there once and KY isn't on there. I've heard NC has decent coon that's thick enough for a walker to tree. Kentucky is central geographically and close enough with the registered coon hunters.
If the location is already set for this year, then I guess the rebs are going to have to storm yankeetown.
jason is right...
It isn't about who has a good dog vs. those that just want to sit and complain. All I know is it sucks knowing that SO MANY big shows and hunts are in Indiana when I have to pack up the dogs, us, two kids, and all our supplies to make such a long drive (did I mention 2 KIDS?) several times a year.
I don't mind driving 8 hrs. every month or so to a big hunt, but heck, give me something different to look at rather then the roads between middle TN and Indiana! Same view over and over again gets old...
Haven't been to many western states, wouldn't mind a trip to VA or one of the Carolinas... lets get some variety in there to make it worth a family trip!
Heck, if we're going to keep going north with it might as well make it NY. Got friends there I haven't seen in years.... it would be worth the drive.

I dont care where the finals are at. If I make it to the last 100 dogs I'm going with a smile. I bet most of the people b!tching havent even been to the finals.
take a U.S. map and draw a line from the center of texas straight north to canada and from there straight east to the top of maine.
95% of the coonhunters in the entire world live to the east and south of those lines.
indiana is dead center of those 95%,and they have the coon and the clubs to hold big events.
Nobody said indiana didn't have the coon or the clubs but theres plenty other states that have as many coons and clubs and i think alot of hunters on here would like to see it move around more.
What it boils down to is a club puts in with ukc saying it wants to hold a big hunt like that, UKC then decides if the club has the area and can hold a big hunt( enough members to guide and judge and handle a hunt that size and lastly an area that has a few to to score. )I'd suggest that instead of griping about where its at get a club together that can host the world or a big hunt and put in to have it. until you do that enjoy your drive.

AS you are so quik to jump in here and babble about something that you haven't read the whole thing about. Legrand club and the state of iowa has put in a bid on this hunt for the last 5 years. Clubs and area with coon we have plenty of both we have held the semi finals here 3 years in a row. Missouri Illinios and few other states have just as many clubs an coon an i'm sure from talking to other peolpe from out of state have that their has been bids on this hunt as well. Maybe you didn't read all the post but this was already stated. When you have to start driveing outside of indiana for every big hunt here is and spend alot time on the road and gas money and etc every year then you can complain as well.
Elvis im not tryngto stirr the pot but the last three zones we held we drew more dogs than even indiana just thought. I don't really care where it is if i quilfiy i'll be there. The point is alot of people are tired of it being in indiana so much i'm not alone in this. But like i said if i quilify i'll be there even if it was in alabama i'd be there.
Its not babbling it fact. thats how the process is done. If you put in for it then you need to talk to UKC and see why they dont feel your club can put it on. With all the zones and big hunts you've been putting on there why complain about where the finals are gonna be. Oh by the way I travel outside indiana to hunt quite often. And I agree with you if I qualify my dog I'm gonna go to it weather its in the north south east or west in thin coon or thick coon. No matter where its held its gonna be a long drive for someone. I drove 12 hours one way to pick up a pup that was out of a cross I wanted. wouldnt think anything about driving that to go to the world hunt. Maybe I'll get to come out your way to hunt jason I'm sure you do have good places to hunt. As for the gas money and traveling it doesnt bother me a bit I put alot of miles on every year hunting. All I know is the decisions been made where its gonna be so its not doing any good complaining and hopefully next year your club will get it. If so I'll be out there.

Sorry about blowin up but it's gettin frustrating and what pees us off here the most is a certain person guaruatee legrand would hold the world hunt if we held the semifinals for 3 years we did the hard work and now we are not getting what we were told. Everytime we bring it up were told oh we got have it in indiana this year we got to get the numbers up. When told about the numbers that showed up at our club they skate around it. I don't blame indiana one bit so don't take it as i'm upset with the state of indiana you guys have good hunting i'm upset because of the excuses we get. THIS IS MY LAST POST ON THIS SUBJECT EVERY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Pigeon you are correct and I think the the best thing that's been said on here is that the decision has been made. No sense in crying over spilt milk lets hunt!
You are correct Pigeon so then we do have the clubs and guides to hold a big hunt thats been my statement from the get go. I will agree with Scott B on this and MJSMITH lets just hunt and i hope everyone on here thats plannin to make a run at it makes it there. Good Luck to everyone.
