Did not feel it would be a good night so we took Riptide and Bounce. First dump county road to the other and nothing so we drove around and headed them off. Next dump they got in there about 550 and they slammed a double. Next dump about 300 yards and they both split, Riptide had one and Bounce pulled up a little short the opposite direction. Move and last dump right at 700 yards and they hit and as we drove closer they treed and had another one. Wish now we had taken the pups!

Started out a little late tonight. Watch I.U. beat up on P.U. before we left. Dark, misting rain and it was a good night! We tooK Bounce and Boss Hog, first drop the two split up and each went about 750 to 800 yards the opposite direction. One thing we know so far Hog and Ed are not afraid of the dark! Neither hit anything so we headed them off and went down the road. Second drop we made one tree with a coon and one den, neither went but a few yards. Last dump they hit at about 350 yards and treed around 625 plus and had another one, called a night!

Not a stellar night but we did manage to tree one on the outside, one big den and once in the creek bank. We did hit tracks but none went very far. We just took Riptide and Boss Hog these evening.

We have waited for right a year to make this cross and today the cross was made. We would like that thank Steve, Dee and Steven Carter for selecting Riptide as we feel we could not have breed to a better bitch. Dancer is a coon dog from start to finish and has the breeding to back it up. Dancer was the 2015 National Bluetick Days Queen of the hunt. This litter will be both U.K.C. Performanced and P.K.C. Super Staked. Pups will be due the first week of May so timing could not have been any better, price on pups $350.00.

Took Bounce and Mr. Ed tonight and had a pretty good hunt. Made three trees and had two coons and one big old den. I think the adjustments we have been making are starting to pay off! LOL! They either change around here or I help them change and normally they take matters into their own hands. I have always said, once you get something to soak into a strong headed dog they don't forget! You can take it out of them but is pretty hard to put it in them!

Took Riptide and Boss Hog tonight and had a very good hunt, the coons were moving. We made three dumps, three trees and three coons. Two of the coons were in little dens and you could look down and see the coons and one on the outside of a den. Tonight was the first that I would take a picture of Boss Hog treeing, finally was deserving. Riptide and Hog struck about the same time and is was red hot, Hog gave three dying bawls and rolled it over and Riptide fell in with him, they had. Hog has been on the edge and tonight it seemed to click. Hog made one split tree that was a den but felt he did not have it as Riptide tapped and went about 75 yards deeper and treed with the coon. Old sows not running very far right now. Corey tried to get a sound video of Riptide and Hog treeing but it was about 450 yards away and did not turn out very good. Boss Hog is (8) months old.

Took Bounce and Mr. Ed tonight. First dump they hit a good track and treed a den tree. Second dump they both hit at about 350 yards and Bounce treed and Ed was off by himself so we waited a few minutes. In a little bit Ed treed and we went to Ed first to make sure he stayed. Did not tree that good but did stay and had one, did some training. Took Ed back to the Ranger and went to Bounce, he had a blank so we had a training session, cut him right off the tree and he went to about 800 plus yards and made a circle and not a bark. Picked up and made two more dumps and not a bark, time to go home!

Took a hunt tonight with Bounce and Boss Hog. First dump they got in there right at 850 yards and both split up and never made a bark, drove around and caught them. Second dump they hit red hot and went about 400 yards and both split treed, Bounce on a very large pine tree and Hog on a very large cedar tree. We found Bounces coon but did not find Hogs but it could have been there, at least he stayed and let me tell Bounce can put pressure on one. Third dump they both hit and both split up again, Bounce treed around 425 yards in a big den tree and Hog treed in a drain pipe in a corn field about 675 yards. Called it a night as 4:00AM rolls around pretty fast for an old man!

Well we are done for the night. Took Bounce and Boss Hog and had a pretty good night. First dump they got in there about 750 yards and when we got there they were on the other side of the river right on the bank and not they would not come! We had to drive around which was about a 3 mile drive but 'drove to within 50 yards of them treed with a coon. Next drop right at 800 yards and they circled back around to us and not a bark. Last dump we drove back a picked corn field for a pretty good ways and when we turned loose they hit right of the bat and treed within 200 yards with a coon. Overall pretty please with the night we had.

They get old

Man it happens way to fast. One day they are a pup and the next day it seems like they are 10 or 12.
Enjoy them all you can now and don't put them up or before you know it, it's too late.
Feller needs to keep huntin them even after you finish em out. There is a lot to say for an old dog that can still put points on the board. May have to do some $KC or $HCHC maybe or even a Slam Hunt or two.

We laid ole Smoke up and then broke him out for a hunt or two and had a blast showin him off. Made a sweet 16 or two and he could still grab a high score win too. But at 10 and 11 there comes a time that they get out run and out gunned by the youngsters and then it's time to let the young ones do their thing.

Looking back on the old pics makes for some good memories.

Yo guys have some to be proud of.

Well Mr. Ed. is now in the state of Kentucky with his new owner. We know he will get the hunting he needs and deserves and is in very good hands / handlers. Out of three breedings and only five pups they have made their way to the hands of 4 different hunters now. One of Ed's new owner first question was can he have him ready for Baby Stakes and Bluetick Days young guns, time will tell!

Went hunting tonight with Bounce and Hog and had a 50 /50 night. We made two trees with coons, two blanks and one den. Bounce and Hog treed one together, Bounce got one by himself and Hog and Bounce split treed about 75 yards apart and both were blank. Last tree they ran one about 650 yards and treed a den. Called it a night as the moon was on its way up!

Took Riptide and Hog tonight and hit tracks but had to cover a lot of ground to make three trees. First dump they did not hit until they were right at 875 yards and treed pretty quick and had one on the outside. Next dump over a mile and were treed when we found them on a big old den tree and last dump we hit about 550 yards and treed at right at 700 yards with one on the outside of a den.

I have heard and seen many comments on people being afraid to Show their Bluetick Stud Dogs latley and thought I would give my 2 cents worth from my side of things. I might be old school but in the day if at any time we wanted to breed to any stud for any type of hunting hound we would set up and date and go for a hunt with him,seeing for yourself takes out all the questions. It may seem logical but that is way we did things and the way some still do today. Everyone does not have two of three full time handlers hunting their hounds for them and financially able to make every hunt even if they wanted too. Say you take off and drive 9 or 10 hours to hunt a Sat. night, $200.00 entry fee, miss one days work say $300.00 wages, 2 nights in a motel say $160.00 at least, $150.00 gas, $100.00 eats for friday, sat and sun., little rest on Sunday due to another 9 or 10 hour drive and back to work the next day. So you spend $900.00 plus on a hunt, can most people working every day make a hunt like this? I sure can't and when you take all the fun out of hunting it is time to hang it up. Many will not say anything but since this is our post I feel it is fine, don't like don't read it. Come for a hunt, you may or may not like what you see but at least you will know. Good luck to all the Bluetick Studs, don't let a few bring you down! What I really personally like is the ones thinking this hunt is the next best thing to sliced bread, but don't have a stud to hunt, oh well they are on the band wagon anyhow! LMAO!

Play by play for you Jim, LOL! First dump Hog struck at 250 and in just a little bit Bounce charmed in and they ran to about 600 yards and nailed it with one on the outside. Hog done a hell of a job on the track and fair on the tree. Second dump Bounce struck at 325 and hog charmed right in, Bounce treed and Hog kept running. Bounce had a blank but did it right so we did some more training! Turned Bounce back into Hog and Hog Hit up pretty hard but did not nail it, Bounce got him and they had another one in a den tree and the coon was about 2 feet from them in the bottom of the den. We are calling it a night as 3:30 comes pretty darn fast for an old man!

Eddie I thought I would say a few other things but felt it would be over their head. To cheap to go hunt with studs so they do this, bring them into them. Kind of hunters you don't deal with. I bet more think my way than theirs! I have mellowed out in old age! Well most of the time!

Lol tell me how you feel about being scared to enter a hunt haha. I broke myself last year chasing hunts and traveled over 15000 miles running scared. I did see your dog at some hunts but not theirs

Eddie We have a few coons around here but some think they are dry holed when they don't tree several around here on hunts. That is not going to happen around here so if you are going to tree a coon around here you had better have a coon dog that is straight, one that hunts and does not race horse and one that can work the rough stuff, one that will not tree in the ground or you had better keep them at home. I don't need to drive 10 hours to show anyone that, hell they can come and go see for themselves but then again they would be out a little cash and time on their end. About the pup breeding a 100, I will pass, to many worthless bitches being breed today and once again I feel the bitch is at least 60% of the solution! Man you should not have got me going, was trying to be open minded about this topic but just could not do it. Now what about the Dr. pepper? LOL!
