Qualified Prodigy for the Super Stakes on Friday night.After a 3 month lay off I took him to a double header and he won both rounds.+400 on 2 coon in the early round and +200 on a coon by himself on a three way split in the late round.He looked pretty good and I'm glad to get it done and out of the way,I will be hunting him some if anyone is interested in seeing him go.Still looking for an outstanding female to raise a pup out of.This dog is consistant if you hunt him 5 nights a week or 5 nights a summer.He is soft and out of shape right now but he is consistent when you turn him loose.He trees coon,not trees,and doesn't take all night long to do it.He has never been bred so I can't tell you what he will produce but I will say this,If you hunt with him you'll prolly feel the same way I do,If there ever was one that needed a few top females backed up to him to find out.....He does.

After a long break,I have made a job change and I'm finally able to get back to hunting again.Been hunting a young dog hard the last month or so and liking him really well so far.He has the looks,mouth,and independence that I like in one and is a hard going,wide hunting rascal that covers a lot of ground in a hurry.He is off of the Leon dog and Sparky's old Star female.This seemed to be a very good cross and I'm hoping to finish this one out and cross him on a few Legend daughters and Granddaughters in the future.Still needs a lot of hunting but he has definitely got me excited again......Time will tell.

I sure enjoyed the trip to AO. Treeing a few Ohio coon was just a bonus. I sure liked both of those young dogs, litter mates & treedogs.

This is the best time of year for me to hunt. I have three young hounds to choose from. At this time I like my male the best. The gyps are treeing coon but not as often. I hunted with Steve and we treed 4 trees with coon. He left me at 1130. Luke treed one after that. Had a 780 yd walk to him. Steve had his walker pup & I had Luke & Fancy. All are 13 months old. Our season opens in 15 days, sure looking forward to season.

Coonhunting has been on the backburners for the last few years due to the leg injury and a job that absolutely consumed all of my time through the summer.There has always been a desire to compete again but the time,nor the dog power was here to compete at that higher level so after a job change,many miles and several weeks of searching I believe I have found what I've been looking for hidden out in the mountains of Virginia.

The plan from the start was to find a special female to campaign a few years and then raise a nice litter of pups from either Legend or Image.She is in heat now so she will be sitting out this coming weekend at Ashland.I bought this female to hunt so she will not be bred at this time because we plan on attending the Dave Dean hunt and a few of the other bigger breed hunts,a few Prohunts, and try to make a run at the UKC and PKC World Hunts this year.I have extremely high hopes for Dolly and we are hoping for a special year ahead,only time will tell,but I'm officially out of retirement,back at it,and campaigning a blue dog again........
