-- The adventures of 'PR' Wiley's Hillbilly Jack and friends (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=452045)
Had a great night with Jon Christmas last night. John came to pick up Rusty and drop off a female for John Bailey. We cut them loose on my place and they went right to work. The two of them put one up in pretty quick order. Nothing like being in the rain and seeing two eyes looking down. =)
Jon keep ole Rusty in the woods and I am confident you'll have a nice hound very shortly.
Till next time guys! Keep 'em treed.
Kent

Rusty
Rusty and I have had alot goin on since I was last on here. We have been huntin alone doin the week and with company on the weekends. So far Rusty has tree'd 2 by himself and 1 in front of my old dog.
He has really been steppin it up lately and is startin to look more like a hound. We are gonna try some corn field huntin tonight. It'll be 4 nights in a row for ol' Rusty.
All alone on the edge of a big creek. Meat sittin high, and walked right down the tree and jumped on Rusty's head.

I would like to take the opportunity to say a couple of thank you(s) before we lose connectivity down here.
Amanda Wiley(my wife):
For some unknown reason you put up with me being gone to austere environments for long periods of time on a regular basis. On top of that you are willing to let me hunt on a regular basis with no haggling, nagging, or any ill effect. You are a fantastic woman and you deserve all of the praise that I can give you. You do a great job raising our two children, many times by yourself due to my occupation. I stand in awe of your strength and ability to handle pressure from so many angles at once.
I have failed many times to place you ahead of my mission and my other passions…and for this I apologize. I’ll hang my boots up and turn my weapon into the arms room for one last time someday. ..when that day comes, know that you will be the center of all of my attention. My duty to this country will be served, and you will be my one mission in this life.
Jon Christmas:
I owe you big time for what you’ve done while I've been gone. You are a fantastic houndsman and an even better friend. We all know how much time it takes to get this hobby/obsession done, and how hard it is to get it done with multiple dogs.
For those that weren’t tracking, Jon has been hunting Jack for me for nearly a month while I’ve been at JRTC. This put his dogs in a bind as he has truly focused on Jack and getting him prepared and in shape for Autumn Oaks.
You are like a brother to me, and if you ever need anything, anything at all you know where to turn. I've got your back brother.
Larry Stringer:
Larry, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to simplify what many (myself included) make difficult. You have been, and continue to be my guide through this world of hounds, breeding, and just general wisdom. You are a great mentor, guide, and friend - one that I feel truly blessed to have.
Without your help, Jack would not be the hound he currently is on track to be, and he for certain would not be having an appearance at Autumn Oaks this year. I am forever in your debt for what you have done for me.

Jack had a good week last week, here is how it went:
Thrusday:
Jack and I hunted right there at the house. He cut down throught the holler and got struck on a medium cold track that he drove into the awfulest mess I've come across in a while. The coon looked right at me as I squalled, but before I could even get the rifle off of my side he bailed out. Jack went after him, but got litterally hung up in the vines, thorns, and mess....I had to get in there with him to get him broke loose.
Oh well, he had plus points. lol
Friday:
I went to Jon Christmas' house on Friday and had a great hunt (as usual) with Jon and his family. Jon took Tim (out of Jabo x Sadie) and we had a good track to a decent sized coon. That coon tried to walk down the tree, but didn't quite make it down before I put one in him. The second shot made him fall, but he was far from dead.
We got the dogs cut loose and the fight was on, and it was a good one! We were both proud of our dogs. Tim is progressing nicely and is one good looking sucker.
Saturday:
I struck out for West Tennessee to Larry's house on Saturday. Dave brought Jabber out and we had a great time (again as usual). Dave's young dog is progressing nicely as well. They ran some tough, tough, tough tracks that night and got treed with the meat.
Jack did a good job getting some consistancy down for Jabber and ensuring that we had some meat at the top of the tree.
Thanks for stopping by and keeping up with Jack and the crew. Feel free to post about any Jabo pup or dog here, this isn't just about Jack.....
Rather it is about a family of dogs that are showing to be a good set of balanced hounds that are enjoyable to take to the timber.
God bless, and I'll see you at the tree!

good to hear about all these jabo pups doing well and being enjoyed,my jabo pup hase been a blessing to our house as a whole...not much to report on RED ,ive shot only one out so far this kill season it was huge and mad, after a long ,loud fight down the side of steep ridge mr. coon made it under a huge rock where im sure it will stay ,what with the trail of blood it left behind but you never know.hey guys I am interested in obtaining a female jabo pup so if yall know of one floating around let me know.have a good one and may Jesus bless all your goings on.....Brian Hurley
Thanks for the update on Red Brian.
Sounds like he is doing quite well! Hopefully he has many more years of excitement and enjoyment for you.
As far as the female....those things are hard to come by. Everyone I know that has one won't let it go for love nor money. I would call Larry and see if he knows of one that is willing to breed....that might be your best bet.
Be good and God Bless.

An answer to your question, most pups went squall chop on track and chop on tree. jack has a good bawl track mouth and a chop on tree. i know of another dog littermate to yours that bawls on tree. those are the only 2 that i know of. LWS.
I know it is late to put it up, but Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends and all of those who cannot be with us this year.
