The weather says it's 96 and heat index is 111 now at 12:30. Come on september. Thats when we will start to see it cooling off just a little at night.

After their pond time, I took Ruby and tied her to a tree beside the garden while I pulled weeds. Dandy and 7 were probably looking for fox pups in the pines and hay field. The wind picked up and dark clouds came in. I grabbed Ruby and called for Dandy and 7. Chuck came out to set on the porch with us just as it started raining. Dandy jumped up in my lap and he looked like his eye was poked in!!! The bottom was a dark pink and his eye looked sunken in. I called the vet and we took off. Didn't make it 2 miles until Dandy threw up in the crate with it going all over his front legs and through the wire onto the back seat of our new 🚗. Made it to the vet's in just about 1/2 hr. His eye looked better by the time we got there. She checked them and said something about a third eyelid and that running through the tall grass must have irritated it. In a nice way she made it sound like he was too stupid to close his eyes before he got stuff in them. She rinsed them out and checked him over said he was doing well and because he weighs 50 lbs to give him 50mg of Benadryl for his eyes. They look fine tonight.

Rex, i had the same problem out at the world last year. Went for bench show but was just there really to see what it was all about. Knowin il prolly never get to be there for the nite hunt. But while i was there i figured id try the slam hunt. It was dry as a pop corn fart. We were walkin along this sandy path. And i asked the guide is there any creeks we can hunt. He said ur standin in it. Haha. I thought it was a 4 wheeler path. But i woke up the next mornin and my catfishs eye was all swelled up. Here he had some sort of seed under his eye lid from the night before. I got it out and flushed it wit water. The next day he was fine

73° with a nice crisp North breeze. Beautiful out today.

Rex shaking my head at Dandy, silly dogs. Glad his eye looks better. Cringing at the vomit in your new car, did you get that cleaned up? My husband is a collision tech & very very fussy about his truck, my truck annoys him to death. He asked if I wanted a Lexus to drive, I looked at him & said sure as long as I could load the dogs up & go hunting. He muttered something about rednecks & hasn't asked such a question again. Today I get my promotion & raise so I can start looking at new Dodge trucks, it will be nice to be able to drive more than 10 miles & go over 60mph.

The storms last night broke apart before they got here, didn't even sprinkle.

Congrats on the promotion, Hayseedlady. Was meaning to ask u yesterday how the interview went. I loved my Dodge Ram, but switched to Silverados when I got my GMC credit card. I'm a little anal about the outside of it...even made Chuck get out and break off limbs so they wouldn't scratch it, but there's enough dog and 🐎 hair to choke a choke a cat. I've tried getting it off the seats, but the material they use to cover them is a hair magnet.

Had a cool coon chase today in this hot humid weather. Let a caged coon out for Dandy. Gave it a head start to the woods and let Dandy loose. Chuck went with Dandy and I went to the barn to let Ruby out. I started down through the woods on an old skidder trail, then it turned into a deer path. I could see Ruby running so I just stopped to watch. After a few minutes, I could see the brush moving and saw the coon sneaking through the brush. It came up about 20' from me and ran out the deer oath. Ruby was only about 75' behind it. Not much later she treed it. Dandy kind of screwed up, he started on his own, but let mom figure out the hard stuff. He didn't tree with her though; he went down over and came back up on the trail before he was convinced it was treed. NOT COOL... wearing shorts and a tanktop through brush.

That sounds like something that would go down here. I've shot more coons in a nighty & chore boots than I have wearing the proper gear. It also seems I only get into the thick stuff when I'm in a tennis skirt & tank top, it isn't unusual to see me scratched up. Thank God I have a thick hide, I do 2 injections a week & barely notice the small needle.

The interview was horrible, I did okay but the other woman asked for $2.00 more an hour & that ended her chance. Just glad I get on a normal schedule & can start having some weekends off. First I have a maternity leave to cover, the 2am -10am shift making doughnuts.

Rose approves, lol.

I HUNTED BLUETICK DAYS AT HOLMESVILLE OHIO THE OTHER YEAR AND THE CONDITIONS WERE AWFUL. VERY DRY, WENT THROUGH A FIELD AND ALL OUR TRUCKS WERE THE SAME COLOR GRAY. DROPPED A ROCK FROM WASTE HIGH AND THE DUST CLOUD CAME BACK UP TO MY WASTE. MADE TWO TREES ONE SLICK AND ONE DEN. MY DOG AND DOG FROM SOUTH VA WOULD NOT TREE ON EITHER. JUST ONE OF THEM HUNTS.

EVERYONE HAVE A GOOD DAY. MAKE SURE THE OLE DAWGS HAVE WATER, GONNA BE WARM. GOING TO INLAWS TO HELP WITH YARD WORK. YUCK.!!!!

My catfish earned another title today. He is now a grand show. So wel be doin another paracord giveaway. We do this wit every new title. If u go to the kennel facebook page my wife runs ul see where to enter the givaway.

Congrats, App Blue and Catfish!

We just got home from Sinclairville NY. I wanted to go to a water race. Put Ruby in it, the bench show and field trial. The only thing we got was ice cream on the way home.😊 She seemed to have a good time and we met some nice folks.

Hope I have better luck at the casino tomorrow.

Corky that is some damage, wow! Saw similar pictures from friends & family down in NW Missouri. A couple grain bins were blown into the road by Fairfax.

Came home from work the other night, sitting on the porch swing starting to relax when I heard a yip & bark deep in the corn field. That got Rose & Cin's attention so we had a quick coonhunt. They ended up treeing in the corner of the bean field 200 yards from the house & it was a Momma with 2 kits. Rose & Lucy hooked on a old oak & opened up. Grace had a bite or scratch on her flank & belly, she bled pretty good but wasn't punctured. Laid around all day yesterday, already out roaming this morning. Rose is sore but happy & Lucy got the meat. They were louder than a couple dying cows, sometimes when you hear a racket down on the creek it takes a few minutes to figure out cows or dogs.

I was tired & took the mowed pasture to the dogs, shined the tree & shot from there. It was nice to know Rosie is a bit gunshy, I use the 10/22 as the dog caller. If I want the girls to come home I crack off a couple rounds.
