Both Magic and Maggie have a lot to offer each other and should compliment each other. She is heavy Smokey River good mouth and quick to get treed. Very nice treedog. Magic trees tracks as he come to them or trees layups if coons aren't moving. Good old hound mouth and bawl/chop on the tree and a stay put treedog when he is hooked. He like to get to himself from time to time but doesn't mind running and treeing with other.
If Magic can reproduce like his Sire Knight and grandsire and great grand sire there should be some nice pups. Houndy athletic dogs. Should start early and easy to train. Trash shouldn't be any problem. Who knows first time I have not raised a litter of pups in 5.5 years. I'm due.
Any of my dogs are available to go hunting with anytime anyone wants to see anything in my pens go.

Will start hitting some hunts. Kind of excited about Lumbers progress and can't wait till coon season to put the polish on him.

Magic bred Maggie again last night so I guess I have no idea what day she is on. Oh well he is having fun doing it and needs the practice.
I hope I can finish him soon to start working on Sounder and Maggie for the rest of the fall hunts.

Made a couple of drops after 10pm with Lumber. He reminded me he is still young. Oh those nights just drive me crazy. He will be nice when its all said and done (I think ) Who knows. At least we are getting some slow rains and cool weather. Coons should be in a accorns soon.

The pups are looking good. Their eyes are all open and they are getting really active. They won't hardly stay in their house. Their starting to tick up. I think there will be some dark ones in this litter.

I'll get some new pictures of them in a day or two. There's going to be some dark ones I'm thinking.

I soaked some dog feed in milk and gave it to them for the first time last night and they slicked it up in a hurry.

I'm going to see if I can get Magic's last win. Might try him in the Grands if I can get it done. TIME WILL TELL! I need to break out ole fat dog Sounder and tune him up. Maggie should be out of heat this weekend so work to be done in the woods.

Every cast was dead! Tough Tough night! Can't remember that last time I have turned Magic loose and not seen a coon.

Oh well I guess there will be other nights. This last win might be a booger.

Forgot Tony Foley did manage to tree a coon with Roy for Grand Nite. Only Grand there but he got it done.

Maggie is out of heat and Sounder wants to go. Not sure if I want to try to handle three dogs but I might just have too. I will see how I'm feeling about dark.

Took Sounder and Lumber and Charlie Wyatt had Image and his brother had a young Casey bred male. We got treed in about 800 yards with at least 4 looking down and the dogs sounded good.

Next drop we just dropped Lumber Sounder and Image .82 later dogs split with Lumber and Sounder on the wood and Image in a hole. Huge tree and way to hard to see. I feel that they had him. Called it a night

elmo it was a fun cast fri night things were tough but we got some treed . ol magic did a nice job of splitting and holding that preasure. good people and good dogs that makes a fun cast

Hunted with Terry Estill with his Thorn x Lace dog Spud

First drop both Maggie and Spud just treed about 300 yards and had two coons up that tree. Lumber he was more worried about the cattle bawling and running around.

Next drop Maggie opened twice and move on Spud opened once and Lumber once then Bang all dogs treed and had a big coon in a Black Oak tree. Very good night of hunting.

I see now I need to hunt Lumber around more cattle for sure. Always something to work on with a young dog.

Yep there sure is. Yeah I dont have any cattle around my place any longer, so young hounds running loose do not get that lesson early on. kepp on him Elmo you will have him ready for the hunts this next spring!
