Hey Gayle. Hope Betty is still faring well and you're getting in the woods plenty. I'll have to come up and see ya one of these days. I enjoyed the Rawhide and Columbo pics on the English History forum post. I'm going to pick me up a Gun X Mouse pup at Autumn Oaks. I've got Roger Fackler's GrNt Ranger dog I've been hunting. He gave him to me last year. He said he's drawn out with ya before. He said he enjoys jawin' with you. Ranger should make a good pup trainer. Hopin' this Hoosier hound makes a good one. Hope you Grand your female soon. You and Betty take care and God Bless.

Betty is doing ok she stays pretty active she tires easy.
Have been hunting most ever night untill this past week with all of the heat & we have bean fields 100+ acres if your hound runs very long in them you have to get in & get them or they will get too hot. I hunt alot by my self getting to old to run em down.If I go to a hunt & Roger is there You can bet We will draw have hunted with Ranger quite a bit seen good work out of him come up anytime.

Looking forward to it. I always enjoy a good boning up on my English history. Took Ranger out with Roger and a NtCh female he has along with a 7 mo old pup he raised last night. It was one of the quickest hunts I've had in a long time. They all pitched in and did a good job. We hunted over at David Dowell's. He used to hunt a blue English female, Boo. I can't remember what she was out of. He bred her to McGruff and I had a real dark male dog out of her, showing a lot of promise. Called him Coal. He got hit by a car on a road not far from Davids house. He said he has drawn out with 'ya before. I can't wait to get back in English world. I'll be the minority around Meade county. Gotta go, take care.

David use to hunt Quite a bit haven't seen him in long time
I don't think the McGruff dog was bred as much as as some of that stock of dogs(Because he was blue) but you now see him in several dog's ped.I plan on going to Oak's on sat. maybe I will see you there.

Yea McGruff was a good hound and good lookin'. I went down to Matt's house when David had Boo bred. He's a real nice guy. I can't get a straight answer out of David why he quit hunting', just says he's hornery. He wouldn't go with Roger and I the other night and we went right behind his house. He's real interested in the pup I'm getting, so I might get him going again. Yea, I look forward to seeing you at the Oaks. So long and take care. Tell Betty hello.

Gayle

I was down in your neck of the woods this past weekend. We took a little 5 day road trip, stopped in Cleveland and went to the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, then headed down to Nashville. Passing thru Caintuck I saw exit signs for Elizabethtown and Bowling Green thats where I drew out at English Days that one year. We visited Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, stayed in Nashville and spent two days walking the Broadway strip downtown hitting all the Honky Tonks and listening to all the bar bands. Went to the Grand Ole Opry Wed. nite saw the band Alabama!

I learned a couple things while down your way. Instead of "you guys" its "ya'll". Plural is "all ya'll". You dont have any Tim Hortons just Waffle Houses where I learned the difference between city ham and country ham. Your breakfast sausage isnt sagey enuff for me but your coffee is OK! And I brought the cool weather with me in the 60's which felt like home. All the people were extra nice too!

Doug

Thanks for the cool weather sure is nice
there is distillery about 50 miles south of me but never did visit.
a friend of mine is a cattle farmer he hauls the run off from the distillery's & feed his cattle it sure put's the fat on them quick.
He own's a tanker truck (Semi) hauls to the farm then unloads to a smaller tanker truck to take to the feed lot.
so when you buy some Ky. steak it might taste like Jack Daniel's.
I love country music lived within 50 miles of Nashville all my youth but never have been to the Opry.
Next time you order Sausage in Tennessee
ask for the Hot it will curl your toe's.
then when you get in Ala. Ga. & all of the southern states you will get grits on your plate for breakfast don't ask what it is just eat & enjoy.
