We got a couple of super nice femals that will be bred to Smoke as soon as they come in.
The pups out of Smoke and Drizz are just now old enough to start and showing signs of being some good ones. They all seem to have alot of want to, they just don't know what it is they are supposed to do yet.
Walker, the pup we kept is a treeing little dude. He will tree sparrows all day long that land on the roof of the pen. Funny to watch him stretch out and rip them off. We will start takeing him to the woods to see what he will do. He will go hunting on his own when we let him out and he could care less where home is.

Smoke will be bred to GrCh GrNtCh Big Time Spankin Blue Wendy, and also we have allready bred him to NtCh Mad Dog Little Lou ( Robin's mother ). Pearl ( Pop A Top) will be bred to him also.

Yes but I had second and second on the only coon we could find and lost out to a better dog. I was still pleased with her, we just had a tuff night trying to find coon. The area we hunted produced 7 coon the night before but it just didn't pan out for us Sat. night .

Hey, Timmy and I got Torch bought off of Hutch. We will be pushing him hard the next few weeks and hopefully he will be ready for Nationals. Now i can say I got me some Wacker blood!!!
Man o man is he loud. Hutch says that he is a carbon copy of his daddy.

hopefully you can get some more if we could get Robin bred to him. I would like one of those pups. We have a BBCHA Sectional this weekend but of coarse Frankie came in heat so I will have to bring Bee out of retirement. I'll be breeding Frankie to Wacker in a few days. keep in touch

Been a busy week

But Timmy and I are getting back on track tonight. We both have had to put in some long hours this past week and now have our ducks all in a row.
We have 5 dogs to hunt and get ready for the hunts. I'm afraid that Lou will get put on the back burner for a while since she is bred to Smoke.
Not worring about any hunts for a couple of weeks, the dogs need some alone time in the woods and get them away from competition for a spell.

We hope Smoke is ready for Bluetick Days. He has been real consistant and has won almost every cast he has been in. Our problem is that we laid him off for too long and he is really soft. Hope to do what we can and get him back in shape for Nationals. We will give it a shot.

Doin what we can. Just pluggin along and hope it is enough.

Got a call today from Jimmy in Ark. and he wants to set up a one night stand for ole Smoke some time in June. He came up and hunted with Smoke and liked what he saw.

Starting to hear good things out of Smoke pups and they are just 6 months old. Some are allready runnin and treeing with the old dogs. Good lookin little rascals too.

Smoke pup

Went for a quick dump tonight. Turned smoke torch and a 6 month old smoke pup loose. Torch was workin a older track Smoke had took off the other direction, and the pup we turned loose for the first time in its life was no where to be found. (we didnt put a trackin collar on him). Shortly we relized a storm was comin so we gathered up torch. Hollared for the pup but found him no where. Smoke was treed by an old ladies house over 3/4 mile away. I was hoping his pup was with him but no luck. So we went back to where we turned loose and dad took off down the ditch and I took off right handed. I heard him openin to the right so I took off that way callin for him. When I got to him he was workin around a deer feeder full of corn, he didnt seem to care I was there. I got him on leash and he started checkin trees. We havnt ever messed with him. Seems like hes got a lot of brains and natural intincts. Makes u get excited. Dad said that anyone with a smoke pup better invest in a gps.

Glad to hear that you are hunting Barley. He should do really good in the hunts if he is any thing like his daddy. Rooster II was the most intence tree dog I ever saw. He would most likely die at a tree before he would even think about leaveing it. Super track dog too.

Timmy and I had a blast last night with Walker ( 6month old Smoke pup) Like Timmy said, It was Walkers first time in the woods and he acted like he was born there. He is going to be independent. Last night he just went and done his own thing and wasn't concerned with the other dogs at all. He opened at 300yrds around the deer feeder several times and was lookin for a tree. So far all of these pups that have been put in the woods are opening on track and either treeing or at least looking for a tree.

We like her alot and believe that crossed with Smoke the pups will be outstanding on the wood and plywood.

Lou is bred to Smoke now and if she took should have pups the end of May.
Wendy should come in the last of May or some time in June.

Smoke Pups

Talked to LaCinda Taube who bought a male pup out of Smoke and Drizz. They said that he is running and treeing all by himself. She sent me some pics and he is a super good looking dog. LaCinda said that he is super smart and stays in the house and part of the family. They said he started hunting on his own and the neighbors love listening to him running on the back of their place.
I tried to buy him back but LaCinda said no way.
Thats 5 out of 7 that are running and treeing so far and the other two I havn't heard how they are doing.
All these pups are just now 6 months old. Sounds like they are well on their way to be future cooners.
