There is a lady that walks a Beagle by my house almost every day on a leash,,,Poor dog has probably never had a chance in life to run a rabbit ,,Good Morning All,,, How's the time change for you,,,,lol

Dog nap that dog and send it to me but it has to be a female

I like the time change. Gets darker earlier and you can hit the woods earlier. I see a older lady that walks a Walker Dog every day. I wish my would lead like that one does.

Here is a clip of some of the action of the first day of rabbit season here in Illinois.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKBU...mp;feature=plcp

The quality of the video is not the best and I likely edited some of the best stuff out. I failed to bring my tripod. We ended up with only 2 rabbits, both shot by my buddy. I took a couple of shots and my excuse is that I had a new shotgun and I wasn't used to it, (a Remington 870 20 guage pump). Anyway, both my buddy and I are more about the dog work than the kills.

I was proud of my young female Gabby. She was running ahead of my Dual Grand Champion Midnight and that rarely happens in competition hunts.

I hope to have more and better videos later.

I am not going to post after this message but I want to say I bought a couple of beagles at the last club meeting for the right price (anyone could afford them ) off of a club member. I had killed plenty of rabbits in front of them, I knew what I was buying. I am keeping the one I wanted and I sold the other to a buddy for the price I paid for both beagles. I get the pick of the litter when he breeds him to a great female I had sold him earlier. While at the meeting, I was talking to Bob Hudson who said he has some beagles. If someone needed a beagle, they may call Bob, he might know where a guy could get a beagle. Several other club member have beagles and the Coles County Coonhunters Association voted to possibly hold a beagle hunt this Spring.

My point on this message is that several club members have good beagles. A guy in the know could possibly find a good beagle cheap. I do not have anything for sale and when I do sell one, I like to buy low and sell high. LOL

Casey HTX

Went and paid dues for next year and enjoyed HTX. Went out with Austin Lane and a nice guy named John K. That had a leopard hound of wick blood and Rex Laker blood. John was from Palmira Ill.

This hound was the type I like personally to hunt 6-7 barks on ground then a hard tree dog. Hunted like I like weaving woods and hunting close as Austin put us in coon. made 2 trees 1 coon and 1 in heavy leafed oak tree, big tree couldn't find it. No squaller. I was impressed with this dog as he is my type dog. Everybody has different likes but bottom line is if they tree coon. This was my first HTX watching and I really liked it.

This is a nice friendly club to go to, made some new friends and had a good night. That is what its all about.

Take care, Jeff
