No doubt but you are right we will have a blast.

Tuff day so far. Had to put down 13 year old Mad Dog Blue Rooster II this morning.
The old dog was a coon treeing machine his entire life. He was one that you called a coondog.
Super straight except for a possum now and agin when the coon weren't movin. I would hate to guess how many coon that old dog treed in his life. Last week he got out of his pen and treed one across the road from the house and Timmy had to go get him before he had a heart attack he wa treeing so hard.

Thanks everybody. Rooster II or tuffy is what I called him, was a great coondog. Good lookin, big mouth, and hard hard independent hunter. When I was thirteen I raised him from 3 days old. All his litter mates died because the mothers milk went bad. He was a natural coondog that hated a coon more than any dog ive seen. If coon wernt movin he would be found miles away treed on several occasion. He had some of the oldest mad dog blood of any living dogs. Dad kept makin just enough crosses to keep a pleasure dog after he quit comp huntin in mid eighties. Tuffy was a result of those crosses that evolved from dual grand mad dog blue rooster. Tuffy is the grand dad of dual grand smoke, dual grand sara, and ch mad dog mo brandy. He's the sire to gr ch barley ray. I wanted to let him run loose towards the end but he would get treed and woulnt leave and id have to go get him. He was a good ole dog, a handful to handle but a coondog.

Hunt

I won my cast with smoke but was a min late to club house. I didnt have enough to qualfy but the cast win towards king wouldve been nice. Smoke treed one by himself one circle alone and a double after hunt was over. Coon werent movin and he was goin a ways. I had to leave him treed a half away and get to club, luckly dad was 5 miles away and drove close to the tree and got him gathered up. Dad and tim drew out together. Lol.

We met up with Ron and got Torch. We will keep you posted on Torch's progress.
You just do what the Doc's say and get healed up.
Crazy night, the coon just weren't movin and Lou just looked average.
Tonight I will be hunting Robin and playing catch up with Tim and Ranger on the race to Grand Night.lol
High score for the RQE was only 575 plus and Ron Parker won that with his female. Congrats Ron.

Good luck the rest of the weekend. All you can do is win your cast. Most of us can't control where we hunt. It stinks to win the cast and miss the deadline. Glad to hear Tim got the cast win too and finish Ranger to Grandnitech. Lance

Reunion hunt

Smoke won 1st place Grand Nite tonight at the reunion. He also won high scoring bluetick of the hunt tonight. He brought home 2 big trophies and a 21 volt light. He looked tough. I was pleased with his performance all weekend. They knew mad dogs were there.

Smoke Pups

Just got a call from Jay Pingle from Neb. and he said they had his Smoke pup out last night for the second time and she ran and treed with the old dogs. He was really pleased with her. These pups are just 6 months old.
Mark Brown told me a while back that his son's pup out of Smoke got loose cleaning out the dog pens and took off hunting and they did not find him till the next morning. By the way he was just 4 months old and was 2 1/2 miles from the house. Mark said the pup was not hunting for home either. Would you call that a go younder dog?haha
Sounds like I need to start hunting mine!
