STROKER

Elmo Stroker has a really good mouth. He hasn't quite figured out how to use it all the time but he will in time. He has lots of volume but sometimes he doesn't open all the way up. His brother Blade uses his mouth better. They are about the same on pure volume. Stroker will work with other dogs but gets split a lot. Blade is a dead loner and will be split every time he trees. Both will make nice coon treeing hounds with the woods time on them. Darren

Thanks guy us I appreciate it. Got two very exciting litters here at Southern Bluetick Kennels. Dixie x Logan pups due next week. She is big as a barrel so hopefully I will get a large litter out of them. The crosses line up very similar. We will know in a few months. Darren

Hunt

Drake and myself went for awhile tonight. First drop we cut BB and Blade loose. BB went right and Blade went left. BB came back in after about 10 minutes acting scared. Must've came across a white tail. Blade ended up over 700 yds in bottom but could get anything going. Finally caught him up. Cut Cotton and Stroker next. Stroker struck down in a hollar and soon treed but didn't sound right. Got to him and he was in an underground spring. Cotton just fell treed up on side of hill and had two up one tree. Knocked one out. Next drop I cut Blade alone. He hunted hard and soon struck a good track. He went about 300 yds and treed. Had two up one tree. Drake knocked one out to him. We then cut Cotton and stroker again. They got deep and got treed. They were split, Cotton was on a den and Stroker was up a huge water oak. We didn't see a coon there and called it a night. Y'all keep'em lookin up!! Darren

Thanks Steve, I thought I had made all the arrangements to have success with the litter but you never know. Got a bottle and some replacer today to supplement Lady's milk and maybe can save these two females. Thanks for the good luck , I need it!! Darren

Cold

Drake and myself went for a little while tonight. We cut Cotton and Blade. Cotton got deep and struck. We drove around and she was working a bad track. She soon loaded up and we went to her. Found her coon and knocked him out. Blade came in to the tree but we chained him back. Next drop we cut Cotton alone. She struck another sorry track and worked it for about an hour. She got deep and treed. We finally got to her , den tree. We called it a night as we got a late start.

Raising a litter of pups is stressful even when things go good, a lot of time, money, and thought goes into a cross of top hounds. Sorry to hear you are having a tough go of it Darren.

Thanks guys. I still got the one female left and she is 6 days old today and looks healthy. Maybe I can raise her and at least carry on the bloodline if she ends up making a good hound. I have another litter due any day from GrNtChCh PR Uchtman's Blue Logan and Southern Blue Dixie. Dixie is a mate to Razor. She is due on the 14th of December, so hopefully I will have better luck!! Thanks again for the support guys.

Thanks guys. Just checked on Dixie and she has 10 big , healthy looking pups. Just hope I have better luck than Lady's pups. I still have the one gyp out of Lady and Razor , it is 8 days old. Fat as a butterball so I think she will raise it. Keeping my fingers crossed. Darren
