Not much action on here. I sure like my new pup out of Dutch!!!!!!!!

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-04-2007 01:00 PM:

I'm not sure who's going crazier. Dutch because he is getting left behind at night or me not being able to hunt him. Hopefully monday he'll get cleared and can get back to the woods again.

Did you go last night?

If so, then you would be the craziest.

I've got the weekend off. Lets hit the woods sometime.

Here is a picture of Kizer. Not the best picture but gives you an idea of what he looks like. Good size for 8 months old and he has a personality like none other, what a big baby.

nice, have you been to the woods with anyone lately?

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-05-2007 08:18 PM:

Nope, I haven't taken him yet. Going to take pepper and champ tonight. make a drop of two by themselves and maybe once or twice together.

Dutch is looking a little better. He has a check up on monday so hopefully he is good to go and doesn't need surgery.

This female and my bird dog were treed on something back in the woods this morning but i did not have time to check it out.

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-05-2007 09:07 PM:

Maybe he'll teach that female to be a multipurpose dog, pheasants and coon, that would be cool. Does she sound as high pitched as she did in the kennel when she trees.

Man Corey he a nice, nice lookin dog i see why he's growing on yah. **** he's nice looking.

Posted by cbrigham on 04-05-2007 10:29 PM:

My bird dog had a rooster pheasant treed 50 yards from my house one afternoon. I tried getting pictures so everyone did not think i was drinking but he flew before i got close enough. I need to find him a home if you know anyone who wants a good setter. He is a hunting machine. the female has a ear splitting scream, not what you would want but you can hear her a long ways off.

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-05-2007 10:37 PM:

Even with a picture I would of still said you were drinking. That is the exact opposite of this male. He has a low low bawl.

That may have been the case. i do get along with Jim Beam pretty good. He has been pretty close for over 20 years. Here is a poor picture of the female.

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-06-2007 03:09 PM:

I should of dumped on the deer and skunk on the high ground and maybe this wouldn't have happened.

All I can say is you must not have tried very hard to get it out. It still looks like you just washed it!! I guess there must be somethin in that pella water that repels mud!!

Hey Corey i hate to say this but i'm glad wasn't the only one to have bad luck lastnight. I ran a stick in my right eye and i can't see sh%t out of it. It's all blood shot and swalling up. I'm about to throw the towel in on this hunting crap. Can't get out anywhere and when i do i freaky go blind in my right eye.

How's that pup doing? I wish I would of had him here one more day. The neighbor called yesterday and had a coon for me. What are your plans for this weekend you heading to a hunt.

Well my hunt tonight was a short and sweet one. Flipped pepper and champ loose and they went about 50 yards and struck, within 2 minutes they rolled one on the ground. By the time I got there the fight was almost done. they each had a few holes, so we loaded up and came home. Figured I'd let them stew on this one over night and do it again tomorrow night.

What seemed like forever finally ended at a brush pile the size of a trailer. Man they were in there deep.

Did you have any trouble getting them out. How'd that little female do? I guess that little red pup of jordans did really good the other night. Did I tell you I tried to take a short cut home from your place the other night. Ya, it didn't work.lol

Either night will work for me. Dutch is ready to go. Finished up the last of his meds today. Might give him a try this weekend.

Be waiting for the call. taking the new one out tonight and if we get something treed i call you so you can hear what she sounds like in the woods.

Posted by cbrigham on 04-14-2007 12:44 PM:

Did not get much going for good tracks. first coon was a layup, 2nd was a track that the old dog had a lot of trouble with and ended up in a den and the last one we were walking out and they struck on the lead and smoked it for 75 yards and ended up at the river and i got them caught before they crossed the flood waters. not real great.

Posted by Hawk32 on 04-16-2007 03:03 PM:

Chad

Friday night champ and pepper did really good. They grubbed up an old track ended up treeing him in a big cedar tree. did a pretty good job, got hung up a little but lined it out alright. Next drop took um a while, old track ended up in a den tree. Pepper did all the tracking but didn't settle in on tree like he did the one before. Last night I took pepper along with dutch. It was dutches first time out in almost a month since he got laid up. Had one coon, one den, and a brush pile. Pepper didn't have a very good night he was on the den tree and that's it. Then he decided to take me for a little walk, gonna have to do some work on his listening skills. The more I called him the faster he wanted run a way. I know I'm pretty repulsive but I'm too dang fat and out of shape to run after him.
