How are your pups doing out of him.

I see your point Lee, his head looks nice & he puts that head & ear set on the majority of his pups, at least he did with the litter I raised from him. Woody has super nice runnin gear, that isn't showcased much in this pic.

Pups...So far so good Lee. They turned 6 mo's old yesterday. The female I kept for myself has a friendly disposition, real nice looks, & really good "clear" mouth. She is athletic & moves super when she is out & about in the woods. She is real energetic to boot, without being hyper, or a pen pacer. My hunting buddy Donnie Proe has two females that pretty well fit the description above too. Kevin Gilliams also has a female that he says looks nice.

It's about time to start exposing them a lil bit, so it won't be to long now before we will know a little where it counts, in the woods!

Hey jeff, that Woody male pup I got from out of your sugar female saw his first coon yesterday.. He tore into it good and treed well on it! He has been taking nightly trips to the woods, he is getting out 200-400 yrds on his own consistently.. Poorthing though, he tries to keep up with his daddy when turned loose.. But he hasn't developed that 'other' gear yet that Woody possess lol!!

He has a good mouth and is real friendly.. Has alot of puppy in him still.. Not rushing him..

Woody is getting back into hunting nicely... We have had a few differences and he has had to work through a few things.. But the rust is coming off. He definitely hasn't lost any speed or that top gear... And he is good at getting under a lay up.. And being accurate. Time will tell...

Sounds encouraging Donnie... Lol Shoot ole' Newt as I called him, ain't alone. Alot of grown dogs would have a tough enough time staying with him, let alone a pup.

Keep me posted on his progress!

Lee, I would like to invite you to our neck of the woods Nov. 9th and 10th for the first annual Smokey River Memorial BBCHA sectional. Richard Edinger and Kevin Gilliam as well as several others will be there. Brandon Short has offered his cabin for about 20 people to stay in. I would sure like to see you and some of your buddies make it.

Donnie when you put that about the pups "can't keep up with Woody", I was thinking, this is the only Stud that I know of that you hope will through them that will just get deep!. Alot of people think they have a hard going dog, just go with Woody about 3 times. That's all it will take to realize, I should have called it quits the 1st time!!HAHAHA

Hey jeff I appreciate the invite. Not sure if I will be able to make it up. If not, best of luck with the Hunt.

Well I thought I would share some pics of Bullet II taken a couple of weeks ago. They arent the best due to my old fashioned camera.lol. The old man is really showing his age now in the woods. I was hoping to hunt him some this winter, but after the hunt in these pictures I realized it may be over in the woods for him.

He is still healthy for an 11 year old dog and still getting pups. I would like to see some good females come to him soon. His days are numbered.

Anyone

Hey guys, if anyone needs a stud service that will fall at about the time this hunt is let us know. We would love to bring him but he would through a fit with all those dogs barking, and smelling, and, well, he would be excited!!HA

Posted by BULLET II on 11-10-2012 12:30 PM:

Bullet II is still available for stud. He is still a top 10 reproducer that has truly been proven. He is amoung the last to sire over 400+ pups on the list and he has done so by truly being offered to the public, meaning he has bred as many below average females as good ones and yet you can still read of his dominance every month in the reproducers list. There have been at least 3 females over the years that have been amoung the top of the reproducers list that the only titled dogs were from Bullet II. He has also provided many with the right hounds to attempt to start their own line of hounds.
Keep in mind that given the fact that he has bred some top females and females I couldn't even tell you anything about he has still proven to be the common denominator.

He is 11 years old folks and his semen will not be available to the public for many years if ever.

If you would like to breed to Bullet II before it is too late I will work with you. Whatever program(UKC Performance Program/PKC SS Program) is desired let me know and I will take care of that for you.

Thanks for reading.

Congrats

Hey Joe, congratulations on your win at the Smokey River hunt! Ain't it cool when you can walk around and tell which dogs are Bullet bred!!!HA

Excel total exhaustion

Roger and Lee,
Spectator took this with a cell phone, he rarely trees with his feet not on the tree, but we worked him hard that night.
Excel is shown alone, to spectators about every other night. The name of the game is it is all about having fun.
It is an interesting journey. Especially the calls from the older hunters who have hunted with the dogs in his pedigree.

Nice pup

Mr. Hilty thank you for showing some people that there are red headed blueticks that can tree a coon, sometimes. Congrats to you sir, beautiful dog!

Thanks for sharing Mike. I'm hoping to do some hunting myself after deer season.

I appreciate that and I sure know how you feel. I have been unable to reload on good females myself.

Battle

Hey if anyone wants to breed to Bullet11 at the Battle let us know ahead of time. The only reason now that we would haul him up there is to breed. We will work with anyone to get a chance to breed to him. He's getting to that stage in his life that all he would do is stay excited around all of those dogs. But if we can line up a couple of females that are ready to breed at the Battle we will bring him up. Thanks!!

Well dad I didn't know we were planning on heading to the battle. Lol. I guess if you're going I'll go. I haven't heard from Donnie on whether or not he is still bringing Woody. I will try to get in touch with him.
