Just made a pitcher of tea. Took 15 minites start to finnish. Kinda weak when you pour hot tea over ice though. I found out mine is a three quart pitcher. I'll bet alot of ya'll's is too. It looks just like any other pitcher though. I put 4 family size plain Lipton bags in the coffe maker. Lousian tea will do in a pinch. I don't drink a half dozen cups of coffee a year. Then I put what turns out to be 1 and1/2 cups of Dixie Crystals ssssugar manufactured right here is Savannah in the pitcher with some tap water and wait. Then pour the hot straight tea on top of that and it gets warm enough to stir easy. I don't know at what temp sugar gets goofed up like candy making or something but I found if I pour that hot tea on the plain sugar it might get to tasting like brown sugar. Nothin wrong with brown sugar but not in tea.

I'm still trying to get over my embarrassment at church yesturday. I don't know if any of ya'll remember Sam and Dave, Soul Music but right when the preacher got lined out my cellphone went off with my ringtone "Just Hold On, I'm Comin". I got it cut off and sat as straight face as any Protestant ever. It took about a minute and I heard the first snort covered up by a cough from one of my cousins in back of me. Well every so often that thing kept happening. I finally cut my eyes at my son with my grandbaby and I could see his cowlick shake a little but he was straight face as he could be with tears dripping off his chin. Well that was about all I could take but I managed . When church let out of course it was only proper that I should be shunned, and I was. Before I could get gone the preacher caught me and said that was the hardest sermon she ever had to preach what with everybody doing the coverup it was all she could do to keep from bussin out. But she didn't, she never missed a lick.

Have yall ever noticed something about posting or is it just me? I just tried to post on the other "old sayings " thread and what i said was probably politically incorrect to a left winger. I have got by with cuss words and all kinds of stuff but I have noticed that there is either a UKCer out there that has a time out button or either BIg Brother is for sure watchin me. I'm not the paranoid type because I just don't care what the government does. My coment about old sayings on the other thread was "I am from the Government and i am here to help you".
I'm just trying this again to see if it gets timed out. But I'm really getting sick of it.

My opinion...

for what it's worth. Considerably less than two cents I'm sure!

I don't think it's the management picking on us. It's just the site being slow and it is just a coincidence that it happens when it does. I have it and a lot of others do too judging from the discusions we see of it from time to time. The webmaster has said that he needed to 'Do some work on it' a couple of time that I can remember. I think they probably need to upgrade but don't want to spend the money.

I have noticed that you can re-start you computer at times and it helps but I don't think it is OUR computers. Only this site has the problem so it can't be your computer. I'm not a big time web builder so I'm just speculating.

I don't know what kind of connection diffferent ones of you have. I have the highest speed AT&T phone line system. On some other boards where I use to hang out we would sometimes compare our computer speed and it seemed the ones with cable internet had the edge in speed.

Here is a speed test if you want to test yours. http://performance.toast.net/defaul...1&checkid=I used Blue Angels and mine was 3513 KB per sec download speed.

Now with all that jibberish I just typed, I think it is just this site being slow. Was that the long way around or what?

OK Corkster. I've been sweetening my coffee with honey for a few days now and I do like the edge it gives it ...."lips as sweet as honey she can make your toenails curl". You know something bout that don't you Lyle? I go through several cups in the mornings to get me rolling good but then I'll leave it alone unless it's really cold.

I'm kind of lost on here....but I saw one of my FAV words mentioned....COFFEE!

I like mine strong! McD's has some good coffee.....that's about all they have going for them.

I like all different kinds!

The best cup I have ever had was in the Atlanta airport, believe it or not! It was Punkin Spice......as many times as I have been in that airport since then, I have never been able to find that vender......

One side note ~ anyone that has ever traveled with me will tell you~"DO NOT STOP TO GET HER ANY COFFEE!" There aren't enough potty break areas for me on I20!

I have enjoyed the heaviest crop of the sweetest figs I ever had and it looks like they are going to have a second crop. I was wondering how far north fig trees (I call them bushes) grow and if anybody likes them?

We have a couple of fig trees here. I like to eat a few sometimes. The birds and June bugs love em.

I just assumed that Louisian tea was made in Louisiana. LOL I wonder where it is made.

Posted by Bluedogman on 09-01-2010 12:43 AM:

Birthplace?

Prior to the turn of the 20th century, William B. Reily operated a wholesale grocery business in Monroe, Louisiana. With his expertise in roasting and the strong demand for his coffees, Mr. Reily moved to New Orleans in 1902 to found a company to roast, grind, package and distribute canned coffee. It was the birth of the Luzianne brand. In 1906, Mr. Reily was joined by Jacob Aron, a green coffee importer and family friend. With 85% of all imported coffee beans passing through New Orleans, they assured themselves of having the first choice of the finest beans available. As the companys reputation for quality grew, tea was added to the product line. In 1919, the company was reincorporated as Wm. B. Reily & Company, Inc.
