Hey gang,
Still kicking just not real high these days. Been working like what seems 12-15 days for some time now. The past two weeks have been working second shift. The only plus is I do get to go turn the dogs out when I get home about midninght.
Been working ole Jasper up getting ready to go to elkin NC to the zones Friday night. I really can't wait till the leaves come off to find out if he is even half as good a dog that I think he is. I know he is not a tree grabbing idiot he works the tracks good but if they are colder ones he struggles finding the tree. Some you can just feel are not right. I still have to say he still is the best pup I have ever started. So either way when the leaves come off I will just wait to hunt him in the summer and play the odds.lol.
My mom is not doing good in Florida, I had to take a week and go to the hospital with her. Her kidneys are shutting down and due to other health problems they can not do dialysis on her. She also has stated she does not want it so we are waiting to see what happens.

Glad to see everyone still kicking and I have been trying to catch up with everyone.

Can't believe thaqt is tomato juice! NICE! Never thought of homemade tomato juice...DUH!

Been a nice stretch here of cool nights and warm days. I always feel sad about now...caus e winter will come... Akkk! Been some raccoons at the cam... they like the bucket of water we added due to drought. Also a doe and fawn, foxes, and the yotes. The yotes were real spooked by something up in the trees... never figured what. Hope it wasn't.... the lil black bear! Akkkk! We have the cam set for video cause we are waiting to catch the yotes singing. So far they have not made a SOUND since we did this... lol.. Go Figure! Then again... a bear video would be kinda cool if it comes back to the area... Shudder!

I will be off to mum's tomorrow. I hope she doesn't work me too hard!

Hot day today, pretty warm to morrow then only in the 70s Sunday... Fall is in the air a bit. Still such drought here... all my beautiful roses look truly dead...SIGH.... We just can't keep drying our well to water so.... not a great garden yr. The critters, esp the coon have loved the water bucker we put out back for them... poor critters!
OH... MA is thinking of LETTING peeple deer hunt to cull the "herd" in some new areas this yr... the numbers are staggering! I hope they do it so we don't watch deer come by the cam starving...... and dying... cause that is gross and STUPID! People could USE the meat... duh! ANyway that was local news...and our big story was so sad... since they found the ID of a lil girl named Baby DOe...and disclosed she was murdered.... I would rather be hearing about good apple crops, too many deer and even deflategate....

OK... Hope you all have a great weekend, if I don't get back here tonight....and good luck in the woods, in the hunts and in whatever you all do this weekend!

Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH.

He thinks to himself, “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!”

So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.

Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies – two in the front seat and three in the back – wide eyed and white as ghosts.

The driver, obviously confused, says to him, “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?”

“Ma’am,” the officer replies, “You weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.”

“Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly… Twenty-Two miles an hour!” the old woman says a bit proudly.

The State Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle, explains to her that “22” was the route number, not the speed limit.

A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error.

“But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask… Is everyone in this car ok? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven’t muttered a single peep this whole time.” the officer asks.

“Oh, they’ll be alright in a minute, officer. We just got off Route 119.”
