Had a good time at the round up. Met lots of nice folks. I won my cast with 150 circle Friday night. Just needed to see my coon but no such luck. Had a good time anyway. Thanks to Rick Jordan for letting my son Drake and I to tag along with him. Thanks to Scott Vandenhueval and Rick for trusting me to bring GrNtChCh PR Uchtmans Blue Logan back to Southern Bluetick Kennels for the winter. He will be bred to the Dixie gyp. UPCOMING CROSS

Dixie is in heat and just got her negative brucellosis test back, so I will be making this cross next week. Really have high hopes and expectations for this cross. Lots of old Uchtman blood here. Three of the best crosses ever made in my opinion will be running in the blood of these pups. Hope all goes well and I can get some on the ground.

Another Cross

I have already made this cross. Just waiting to see what happens. Pups will be due first week in December. Should be a good cross as well. Lot's of older Uchtman blood here as well. Razor is a coondog and I wish I owned him. I raised him and Terry Tibbs owns him. He is one of the best balanced hounds I have hunted with period.Razor is a hard going , no reverse type hound that you get off of a tree somewhere. Lady is a HARD GOING, GOOD LOOKING gyp. She has a huge bluetick mouth. These pups should have some horsepower!! Darren

Hunt

Hunted with my buddy Terry Tibbs last night. First drop we cut Cotton and Major. They got deep and got treed on creek. Both dogs treed hard and had coon. Cut them off tree and they got deep. They worked coon out of flatland and up mountain. Cotton loaded up and major backed her. Knocked that mountain runner out to them. We cut Razor and NtCh Zimmers Blue Fly loose. Fly struck and Razor put in with her. They worked coon down to river and Razor loaded up followed close by Fly. Tree leaned out over river and we couldn't find coon. We called it a night and rolled in at 3:30 am. Always a pleasure hunting with Terry. Picked up Dual Grand Vinings Hammerhead from Rick today. She will be bred to Logan next week. Y'all keep'em lookin up. Darren

Hunt

Went got awhile last night. Bout everything at my kennel is in heat. Cotton is holding out for me but is due in around first of November. Hunted Cotton and Blade on first drop. Cotton struck bad track and worked it into a huge beaver pond. Her and Blade moved it good but started to fizzle out some as water got DEEP. They got about 25 yds off a paved road and I called them out. Turned Matt Smith's Dixie gyp and Drakes pup loose. Dixie got after a track but wasn't very good. She came close to the gravel road and we caught her as it was getting late. Sorry hunt but we will try again. Y'all keep'em lookin' up!! Darren

Looks like you have some good crosses coming. Lots of old Uchtman blood there and from your stock makes it even better I'm sure.
Sometimes it's hard to keep the stuff you loved going but it is great when you can get it back in your kennels.
Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed seeing you guys at the Round Up Sorry we didn't connect a lot more when we were there.
