Thanks Tim! That's funny! I will take the wins. Once Lumber matures he should be a real looker. I will work him pretty hard in the woods in the next couple of months and see if I can have him ready for fall hunts. I think I will push Magic and try to finish him first then go down the line but we shall see. Other things have taken up my time lately.

Went for a walk on the river with Lumber

He didn't get after one track at all. He was in and out! I didn't see anything setting up either. Oh well I got a good walk in on a nice night.

Wow what a typo I made

In one of my post I put I saw 66 coons that night well that is wrong. I saw 6. That's what happens when your tired and trying to type before you go to bed. Hell if I saw 66 in one night and my dog treed one I would sell him or do something else with him

Hunted last night

Made a drop with a Dual Grand and Grand and Slick with 4 wins to Grand. Hunted Lumber. He opened good but came out of the race. He did tree some but that tree was slick. Before I got there to turn loose they had already treed one on the first drop that I missed out on.
Everyone had enough so they went home. I took some back roads to maybe find a coon crossing but I didn't. However I did find out Lumber loves to road hunt. That might be my key in his training in the future. He has plenty energy and roading doesn't seem to bother him at all.
It was fun. So time will tell.

Creeks are out of banks

Plenty water. Now have to go to high ground. My river hunting is done being that it is under water. I should have hunted tonight but just didn't go. More rain this week.

Attempted to turn Maggie and Lumber loose only to hear my tire going flat quickly. Guess what I couldn't get the darn thing off. Had to call a buddy to help. Needless to say my hunt was over before it began.

Went road hunting

Lumber got to road about 4 miles but we didn't get after anything.
My river is under water so my honey hole is through till fall.
Marshall hunt next weekend BBOA event so I need to get one of the older hounds out a night or two.

Lumber is a keeper I do believe! Time will tell. He has all the tools! I'd say by Fall Round up he should be ready to play but I'm not going to rush him at all. Super smart pup.

I will make it over at least one night. Probably Saturday. You know Friday nights are my night out.

Hunted Lumber alone again. He went in about 900 yards and hunted all over to come up with nothing. He stayed out for about and hour or so. I have got to get this pup in some coons at some point. He wants to find one that is for sure. I seen deer everywhere and he chose not to run them. Malberries are almost ready so now I need to find some. I had a row down on the river about 50 yards or so of malberry trees and I can't get to it.
Lumber is learning every night I take him. Progress is positive so far. He may be a loner. He seems to not care what other dogs are doing or at least the two times I had him out with other dogs.

Had a nice hunt with Daniel Morton last night

We treed one circle tree and two singles. We got a late start but put coons on the limb. Lumber opened good on the tracks and treed but needs work as expected. Maggie looked like crap at the trees.
Daniel's Mann and Witchy stole the show. Wow what nice treedogs and tree pickers to boot.

Hunted

Made one drop with Magic and Lumber. Both dogs struck and treed with the meat. Those dogs were hot. I gave them water back at the truck and called it a night.

Hunted in the BBOA HUNT

Was leading the cast with 325+ and made a call I shouldn't have. Ended up tied in cast and lost the tie breaker with most plus tree points. We got in and the winning Nite champion had the same plus with least amount of minus.
Oh well Magic looked good and I will say it was my fault thinking to much or not enough. 16 nite champions there it would have been a nice payday for performance points for sure.

Hunted last night

Didn't get a bark! Took Maggie and Lumber! Started to rain so I called it a night. Road hunted Lumber about 3 miles and didn't get a strike. I need better places to hunt.

Hunted tonight

I took Maggie, Chris Baker had Slick and Tom Wilbern had Boomer 3 tracks three trees three coons. Maggie split once but didn't stay. She looked like crap to be honest.

First time I'm going to miss the Uchtman hunt in 6 years at least! It's always a good time and hunt and once in a while I pick up a win or two with my hounds! Good luck if you go!
