Hot and dry

Well it's hot and the timber and woods are dry but we are still pushing. Ready for fall of the year already miss those cool nights with no skeeters eating at you
Ya Tim I'm not that great with these phones typing either. I hope to get back up that way soon for some more hunting, horseshoes , and good eating later Gerald

Been getting a little hunting in, finally have some rain moving in our area, we could use a couple days of hard rain , sure would help the hunting conditions for the youngsters, good hunting to every body.....Gerald

Glad that someone is getting some rain, we sure are not getting any. The dogs have been having pretty good success treeing coon,tracking is rough, finding a lot of layups. Keep em in the woods...........Tim

Hunted last night with my brother and my son-n-law with sage, Liza Jane, and Bonnet, Dry and a little hot, Made two trees follaige just took thick to shine the trees, I am ready for fall to roll in with those cool nights, Good hunting to everyone......Gerald

Hunt

Hunted last night. We took Ruger,Alley,and
Maddog maybe it,s Maybeline. My new edition , A young man called me last week and asked if I would take her she hasn't been hunted due to his work for 7 months he said he doesn't want her to set up. She has a very distinctive mouth you can hear great and there is no mistaking it. She will go hunting when you cut her and is independent but not to a vault she was split last night from Ruger. He treed and had a coon , we shot his coon down she was on another coon about 90yards in but never left hers, she was heating it up when hit a goat wire fence and could not get through .
Cut her again she went in and was gone about 40minutes no strike I called her in and we called it a night, the son-n-law had to be at work at 5:00am this morning , Ruger did a nice job getting treed with the meat, they are both out of Turk

Hunt last night

Hunted last night several guys brought dogs, I hunted Maddog Maybeline , we treed a coon right off and then moved to another location, Maybeline went the opposite direction from the other dogs,she struck in about 400 yards in and fell treed right in the middle of big weed thicket, vary hot no air flow and humid she got hot and quiet it before I could get to her, she hasn't been hunted in 8 months and is a butter ball,got to hint her back into shape
But I like her going in and doing her on thing....Gerald

made a hunt tonight for a little while just me and Maddog maybe it,s Mabiline, my new John II female, when you cut her be ready to hunt, there is no looking back alone or with company, she will get gone and look for a coon, she,s fat and out of shape, she wasn,t hunted in over 7 months but it has not slowed her down; or has it, I may be in for treat when she get,s in shape, my creeks are dried up and the berries are gone, not much for a coon to eat and drink on my lease right now, coons are super thin, she hunted an hour and a half, lost her on the garmin for 30 minutes then called her for about 10 minutes she came to me, hot and tired I brought her home, I believe she is going to be a good one........Gerald

just got in from hunting tonight, my son n law and I hunted maddog sage and i had maddog maybe it,s maybalin, sage struck 100 yards in a botom, maybel struck 300 yards deeper, sage went about 400 more yards and treed, maybel went another 530 yards and treed, we went to sage,s tree big pine with alot of under growth couldn,t hardly shine the tree, couldn,t find the coon, we then went to maybel,s tree 600 yards the opposite direction, she was treed in a thicket on an oak tree, had the meat, hot dry and thick, she pushed the coon drifting hard and fast on the track took him a total of about750 yards from where she struck him to treed him in about13 minutes through some very unforgiving terrain, look out for this female this fall, you can believe it.........Gerald

well i am ready for this week to wind down, Headed to Mo. to our home base kennel,s, Mad Dog Kennel,s, taking Grnitech pr' Mad Dog Coon Poppin Wacko (Shelly) to be breed to Turk, We will go to a hunt or two as well as do some pleasure hunting, with shelly in heat I will take Mabilline for that chor, excited and ready to go, Love going to Paul and Tim,s, we alway,s have a great time and tree plenty of coon, Let,s do it.......Gerald

we feel real good about this time, I think may last time I got I up her up there late, my father -n -law passed away last trip when I was headed up there and had to turn around, put me about 4 day,s later getting up there, so I think we just missed her cycle, he was not to interested in her or her him last time, we left her in with him but never saw the breeding take place last time, this time he was more than willing, bred her soon as we put her in with him on friday, and the same on sunday, pretty sure we got it this round, later buddy.....Gerald
