Larry she's looking great man. I'm as happy as a man could be with the way that Jenny is coming along. She is a tough customer in the woods and even tougher on that 1st strike. =)

You'll be making waves in no time.

I just wanted to make sure that folks who read this thread know something.

I am absolutely satisfied with good ole Jack. He has far more good nights than bad.

At the beginning of this thread I promised to tell it like it is. The good, the bad, and the ugly...or in fewer terms the truth.

Best of luck, and keep the dogs in the woods! We'll see you in the timber.

Kent and Jack.

Well, Jack is back to his old ways.

I cut him loose and he got in deep. He struck a track and got it moving back towards where I had sat on a log.

It was a bright cold night and I knew it was going to be rough.

He grubbed a track up and finally got settled down under a medium sized tree. I got to him and looked up.

I looked and looked and looked, and squalled and squalled. I got to looking at the tree again and...sure enough. There was a little ole kitten in the "y" of tree.

I shot him out to Jack and petted him up good.

We're going to try it again tomorrow night down at the Haynes Bottoms WMA...we'll have him tuned up for the hunt this week....I'll make sure to do my part this time.

RIPLEY, TN. PLEASURE HUNTING.

Kent, i went up to hunt with Johnathan Keisel and Chris Sanders last night. wanted to get a look at the female johnathan has out of Jabo and Darybones. well she has only been in the timber about 10 times. but she is very independent. hunted out alone a few hundred yards on both drops. i kept up with her on the garmin she was checking trees here and there. Johnathan said that she has treed her an easy coon by herself a couple of weeks back. i only spent a couple of hours with them in the timber but i can see that she has the natural desire. SHE JUST NEEDS HUNTING... Jenny treed twice in the state forest up there first drop hollow. second drop treed with the meat. had a good time with good friends and jenny looked good. alright Bud good luck tonight. talk to you later. LWS.

Jim

Had a enjoyable hunt last night with dad and grandaddy. we made 3 drops and didn't seen any eyes lookin down.
Jim had a great night and pulled 1st strike on 4 different tracks.
The first drop he struck in about 30yds out and the other 2 put in with him, and they grubbed a cold cold track and finally sat down about 130yds out. The other 2 dogs was belly up a knockin it down but Jim jus didn't wanna try on it. It was a big ole oak that had another trash up top and plenty of places for a coon to hide or limb out.
2nd drop he struck quick and they rolled 230yds and treed yet again. He still wasn't sure but after about 20min, decided he wanted in on the tree himself, and went belly up a knockin it down. Still no luck on anything, but Jim really looked, and sounded good.
3rd drop about 60yds he struck and they rolled over 430yds in on a big deep creek and located big and started grubbin on the ground. We drove to within 100yds of'em and should have called them in. They stayed with it for close to 30mins, and jus couldn't make anything happen, They shut up and headed up the creek wide open, and ole Jim struck in at 800 yds out. And it was red hot. They burn't it out to .62 mile and locked down big. We got back in the truck and drove around to find 3 dogs diggin a hole at the base of about a 10 foot bluff.
All in all we had a good night, and Jim really had a chance to work some tracks, in some deep deep dry leaves.

2nd tree

Jim and Jack

Well I took Jim down to Kent's new house in Big Rock tonight. We had a real good time like always, and seen 2 pups really show out good for a hot dry night. They made 4 tree's but just couldn't find anything up them. And like always Larry, Jim made a liar out of me after we talked. He had a great showin and really treed hard all night. Once he felt like it was there, you couldn't pull him off.

Jack and Jim on the last tree of the night

Jack by himself.

Jim choppin on it

Jim on the second to last tree. I'm afraid they got hung up on the fence at this tree.

Jon, it was a good hunt. It was dry as a desert fart last night.

They got treed in several messes and in one real deep hole/tunnel in a bluff.

Jim looked like a million dollars last night man He is really coming along well. You should be proud of that young dog. I'll shoot you that information here in just a minute that you asked for.

Well here is the big news.

1. Jack is a 2013 Performance Sire.

2. Jack will be bred (via AI) to ’PR’ T&L Redoak Kennel Roxy (DNA-P)

This will be the first litter by Jack.

I am open to other breedings by AI only. I will not be live breeding Jack until he is a Dual Grand.

Thanks for keeping this post going and coming back to see what's going on. Not only with Jack, but with the entire Dual Grand Stringer's Hillbilly Jabo line.

Kent

'PR' RIP-ROARIN' HILLBILLY BRANDY

STANLEY HANDLED BRANDY IN THE YOUTH HUNT AND WON BEST OF SHOW FEMALE WITH COMPETITION.

IT'S A "SHAME" I HAVE TO COVER FOR MYSELF LIKE THIS, BUT BEFORE SOMEONE HAS ME BANNED FOR POSTIN' OBSCENE GESTURES, STANLEY HAD HIS HAND CRUSHED BY A BOAT TRAILOR AND CAN'T STRAIGHTEN ALL HIS FINGERS.

HE HANDLED HER BROTHER ELI ALSO, BUT GOT BEAT BY A BETTER JUNIOR REDBONE AND NEVER GOT ANY FURTHER THAN THE REDBONE CLASS. HE IS MY "PROFESSIONAL HANDLER".

SEE YOU AT THE NEXT TREE.

Jack got another 1st last night at Puyear Tn. He did a fine job covering a handler error by me.

That's two 1sts for him. Only 20pts left.

Larry and Jon.

It was a good time getting Jenny, Jim, and Jack together again. It was a good night to watch good young dogs go.

Larry, Jenny looked good man. You can tell you've hunted her hard recently. As always it was great to talk and catch up. I'm always in need of a good ole Stringer set straight. =)

Jon, thanks for letting us come up and hunt on you place. I had a blast watching your dad and Larry talk about dogs and what not. We'll get together soon.

Kent

Jack at LBL 19 DEC 2012

Not to be out done...=)

I got Jack cut loose well after 8p.m. all because yours truly decided to forget his freaking boots at the house.....yeah.....

So I got him cut loose out at LBL and after a hard cold track he pulled up treed.

I almost didn't find this coon, I just so happened to see a bit of an off color portion on a knotted up fork...so I figured why not....I'll take a shot at it. And here she came down the tree. Jack and her went rounds and I finally stepped in and finished it as I have to be at work in 6 hours.

Although I do admit I screwed up the picture taking tonight...I didn't get but one on the tree and that was after I had bagged and tagged the coon....

All in all a good night and a heck of a start to his tune up for the Winter Classic.
