"OH the sound of crushing skull's"! "Patch" get's his head crushin from "Toad" & "Lumber". The good new's is very little blood shed from them on this go 'round. Two turn out's & split in each then burn the hair off'n the one only to give it an emergency traciotamy(sp).

We are havin us a grand 'ole time!!

Ha the head crushin!! Jinx an Jessie were both addicts in that field!!

Take care.... and tell Patch I said HI!!

Corey,we don't get after them to hard till we're done chasing the elusive whitetailed buck deer. Coonhunt all year but the rut is an addiction of this family's. None the less,we been gettin out here & there, mostly with company and flat runnin the hair off'n some of these ridge runnin, rock dwellin, afraid to climb a tree big'ole coon's.

Catchin a pile of them on the ground when we go & some sure 'nuff giant's at that. "Bum" & "Patch" kinda have that been run thru a haybine look to them. So much for our purty lookin showdawg's. Them two gettin way to many scar's to even think about competin in a standin purty contest.

Just the one female outa "Heidi" that we are keepin. Hopin to raise us a couple litter's this winter/early spring if all goes rite. We are gonna rear them for our own use of course with extra's hopefully available to other's that may wanna give them a go.

Enjoy your fall & the hound's cuz winter is on it's way............................."I RECKON"?

Ya know, back in the oldin day's when Ma,the young'uns & myself where dairy farmin we had some awful fancy lookin young dog's that drank their fair share of whole milk & cholostrom. Could have a tendacy to cause a bit of a mess in a pen though but dumpin milk is the best.

Thinkin 'bout gettin me a lil 'ole wore down 15 year old Jersey 3 -t!tter. The pup's can have what I don't drink outa the bucket!

Good luck & keep us posted. Once ya got'um a squirmin around good & colorin up we'd like to take a road trip up to your grib & have a look at them if'n ya don't mind?

haha your right Russ..... it's on it's way sure enough

We've been doing our fair share of coon slaying and yes our hounds to have that scratchy just ran a coon through a haybine look to them too lol

You'll have to let me know when you have a female available.... like to get another un to try and fill the old girl's shoes

My wiley old whitetail came early this year... shot him during archery season too bad he wasenta HUGE Wisconsin buck lmao just a little six-point...

Anyways keep um treed guys! hope everyone has a great season while it lasts....

Look's like it's R & R time for the hound's as of midnite last night. Fixin ta be massively invaded by the blaze orange army ! I bet the road's are loaded with vehicle's haulin brand new shiny 4 wheeler's,camper's & Everything else under the sun!

This time out will give the boy's time to heal up there many wound's they have acquired. Thank goodness for super glue otherwise the "Bum's" ear's would be shredded. Lost track of the number of time's he has had it done so far. After it's healed you can't hardly even find a scar..

We been pullin "Bum" back & lettin "Patch" have'um alone. He can make pretty quick work of a big 'ole bluff dweller if it's not gettin yanked outa his mouth. Reduce's the blood lettin a bit as well !

Plenty more huntin to come & people we want to get out with. Can't wait but my focus is on them split hoove's for the next lil bit.

I love the way "Sas" tree's. She has been an awsome layup dawg since she was a baby. She tree's 120+.Crossin her with "Patch" has us excited to see how they develop. Might not be worth the price of a shell but we're fixin 'ta find out.

She split treed at four month's from "Bum" & had her own kit 20 yards away.

If early startin natural ability has anything to do with it I could be havin me a lot of fun this next summer.

"Kandi" is bringing back in a heavy dose of "Boomer" by way of Ron Moore's "Bud" who is her father. First nite off the farm Dan & I took her with the "Bum" & she split tree about 50 feet away & flat blew the top out of it & didn't even know he was in the same wood's. She is forever more an impressive treedawg and an up on the wheel smokin track dog. I got my finger's,toe's(both of'um) arm's, beard hair etc crossed hopin we are gonna have our first all blue pup's born here in a lot of year's.

A couple cross' we been waitin to make for a couple year's. I'll get'ta workin on putting their pedigree's on here.

How does patch compare to bum in the woods, similiarities and differences?

Posted by Hawk32 on 12-18-2009 06:59 PM:

Russ
How'd you fair chase'n the whitetails around this year? You sound pretty fired up about these crosses on patch. I would be too. You get one out of the bunch just like patch( you know looks, brains, hunting ability, ect) send him across the river.

"SAS" & "PATCH"

This may seem a lil intense but I can not wait for them to be born !! This genetic collection of hound's is as stacked chuckin full of natural born layup dog's that few if any could rival in any breed. They will be a lil young to go to Ashland but just rite for the reunion or the national hunt.

I was gonna carry it all back another generation or two to show the influence of such great's as "Boomer", Brush Creek "Blue", Smokey River "Rambler",Jet IV back To the original Northern Blue "Jet",North Star "Buddy", North Star Blu "Star" & a whole butt load of Michigan Blue "Rebel",Hammer "V" on back with some intensely stacked in Hammer "II"top & bottom To name a few.

They might be their own brother's,, sister's,, uncle's, grampa's, grand mother's, neice's, cousin's, nephew's,, great grand mother's, great aunt's,Great great Grampa's & so on but to me it is gratitying just to gander at the collection.

Of course there will be a few stayin here but hopefully depending on "IF" & how big of a litter she has there may be some available especially male's.

"Patch" has been workin on speakin for himself & will be headed to Dual Gr in 2010."Sas" has been pleasure huntin & was one of the most outstanding young natural layin them up pup at baby age that I've messed with. Ben hunt's her largely & we can't wait to put her in the hunt's this spring as well. God willin & nothin happen's to both of them they will be GrNtCh's,we promise.

Might hav'ta do some out crossin with these one's!

Best I can tell is there is 16 shot's of "Toad" Which mean's the same for "Kate" & "Bruiser,10 dose' of "Luke" & 8 of "Spanky". Some of the absolute best layup dog's that I had the pleasure to witness as a pretty good base not to mention all the one's out of them.

Even better yet, look at the collection of high quality coon treein female's & multiple dose' of a few of them.

Started with a dog & some parent's & built it backward's. Had to look up one dog to see if'n it was a NtCh for sure? Thass a whole lot easier than tryin to do it in order goin down lookin at a pedigree.

That latest invention,Copy & Paste", really come's in handy but it is a learning curve that can mess me & thing's up at time's...................

Bet them coon are movin tonight AAHH ? Collared up "Fancy" & hissed her down the lane. "Pip" was back in 5 minutes & She was gone 'bout 20 minute's & not said anything so I figured I best get her back cuz I knew she was crawlin around in the rock's more than likely ?

She came in lookin like a tow truck comin up the drive. White & a Yeller tracker flash lite's in strobe mode. Ya know ya look at that very long in the dark at close range & it will 'bout take ya down !

Corey, the deer huntin hasn't been worth a hoot. Between all the standing corn & the warmish weather rifle season was bad. Ben killed a doe & a chap from Florida did as well. Everyone let buck's walk so that is encouraging.

I hunted 23 day's in a row, regular rifle,10 day's of muzzleloader then a four day slick head season. Fired one shot & that was to take out a coyote.

I took a doe & a scab 10pt with my bow but we have another rifle season starting Christmas eve that I'm lookin forward to. Not gonna be a shootin nuttin unless it's the rite buck. With this snow & hopefully more like their sayin we may get sure make's them a lot more visible in the CRP from a top the bluff!

How'd ya'll do? Ketch Any?

I'll keep you in mind in the pup department but mercy their gonna need a lil age & conditioning if their gonna stand a chance crossin the 'Ol Mity Muddy without comin out in Missouri !
