something about penguins

Penguins

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins
on the ice in Antarctica - where do they go ?

Wonder no more ! ! !

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic
bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will
mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of
compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life.

If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other
members of the family and social circle have been
known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial
wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for
the dead bird to be rolled into and buried.
The male penguins then gather in a circle
around the fresh grave and sing:

"Freeze a jolly good fellow"

"Freeze a jolly good fellow."

"Then they kick him in the ice hole."

You really didn't believe that I knew
anything about penguins, did you!

HEY THERE!

Sorry I never made it on yesterday... bit of a SKUNK issue... Daisy got a small one in the dog pen with our son.... lol.. Web had learned his lesson and stayed a way... BUT at ten pm we had to deskunk a dawg... did a decent job... slight smell but not too bad. Long day today, had to drive a few towns away to hospital-just for a yearly exam with one of my drs...I'm good... a bit FAT... but good.
HATED to lose this particular baby skunk... it was so beautifully marked... SIGH... one reason to NOT like the gamecams. The good cam has been working on a higher led setting for the flash so we're not sending it off for repairs at this point.
I am not gonna be on here long and NOT sure about tomorrow cause I have "thrown my back out"... but in my NECK so I'm stuck till it just goes away on it's own....
Wish We could go to AO again... someday....
Penguins... LOL...
SO... have a good night, OH, I enjoyed all the pix of course...
Later Gators, Heather

Good Day Folks!

Coming on for a quick hello since I wont be on here tonight. Bob and I are gonna go out to dinner for our 8th anniversary.
THanks about my neck! It is finally a WEE bit better at this point. Spent the whole am lying flat hoping it would ease out. I'm pretty used to this, since my whiplash was as bad as it could have been without breaking the neck.... I am NOT used to it hurting more than 2 days though. Getting OLD and.... lol... paying the dues.
SO.. I am sitting here on the sofa... a smelly skunk covered foot in my hair...LOL... We have sprayed Daisy again today and the smell is Better... but she got it UP the nostrils and INTO her ears etc... SO... some remnants. This morning I noticed between her PADS needed a spray... but judging by the feet on my head... another spray tonight will help! Skunk off really does work better than ANYTHING else we've tried but you have to TOTALLY soak the object you want the odor off of... and her coat is thicker than hound coat... We didn't even try to save the collar... just stuck a new one on.
OK... gonna see what else is up before chores today so I can get all clean SMELLING for our date tonight at the Mexican restaurant we're gonna try out!
Later Gators, Heather

Heather

try mixing hydrogen proxide, liquid soap, and baking soda together and washing her in it

this even takes the smell out of leather collars

plenty of experience

David

I have been fortunate enough to have only once had to de-skunk a dog. I think I used this formula when I did it. Has been a long time ago.

Hi Guys!

that means GALS too Cleo!

WOW did we have an amazing dinner! The mexican food was authentic stuff and GOOD! Thenwe went over to the tequila bar after with our carpenter friend and the owner of the place and I had a sipping tequila that was wonderful! I would have thought that ALL tequila was disgusting... but WOW! Sat and chatted with the adorable biker chick bartender there, sweet girl who has a big boy bike! She was a tiny little thing like me too! Thinking if she is single... and Kenny gets thru his divorce and WANTS to date again ever... this girl MAY be a prospect!
OH.. and our DATE for our anniv. was truly wonderful, I sure do LOVE my Bob! Still amazes me DAILY that we found each other again.
It is a Beautiful morning here! The air coming in is perfect at the moment. Supposed to be in the 80s later on. It is one of those days the critters are all a twitter and the squirrels and chipmunks are driving miss Daisy nuts. NICE day!
My neck is FINE this morning too. Go figure! I fell asleep on the sofa, sitting up with the lap top... in the middle of getting pix from the cam chips to here... I guess THAT was the position that fixed it! lol... WOke up at 5:25 am... just in time for Bob to come down to make coffee... LOL... He must looked at me and this laptop and shook his head... lol...
I guess I'll see what happened on here since yesterday... then I should LOOK thru those pix too.
Later Gators! Heather
