My brother and I took a road trip to Lima and pleasure hunted with Greg Mayer and his buddy last night.Dogs acted pretty good and we ended up treeing six.Baby Six was wound up and ready to go and the boys didnt mind fetching her so I took her along.She looked pretty good the few times I turned her.Gonna try and get her hunted up some this spring if the leg will allow it.She has made a solid dog and is really quick at what she does.Hopefully this leg will get healed up and I'll be able to promote her some this summer.She is more than ready and should do quite a bit of winning if given the oppurtunity.Will know more on the leg in about 3 weeks after the first x-ray so hopefully we can get started this spring.

Haven't got much done the last week or so but puppy sitting Ty (Image x Baby Six).He's been inside for the most part the last week or so because of the cold weather so I've been cage and house breaking him.He is extremely smart but he is a mischievous little fella that's bold and bullheaded.He is giving April's house dogs all they can handle.If he's awake,he's bothering one of them.LOL.Prodigy and Six are bedded down and pretty content.The weather has been brutal but both are doing fine.

The leg seems to be doing better.I've been off of the cane and walking on my own for the last week or so for the most part.Still "swaying" some when I walk and still having some pain but it seems to be getting better so hopefully this last procedure has done the trick.I won't know anything for sure until the x-ray on Feb.5th,but I'm thinking and hoping for good news.

Headed to Ridgeland South Carolina in 2 weeks to the Jasper Jamboree.I make this trip every year and really enjoy this hunt.Won't be hunting this year due to the leg but will be there at Millingport's Supply visiting so stop in and see me if ya get the chance.

Took the Prodigy out last night for a drop.It was -6 with a windchill of -19 and about 7 inches of snow in the woods.Been a little restless in the kennel so I thought I'd knock the edge off of him.Never opened on the ground but managed to find 2 sitten in the bottom a den.This little fella is somethimg for a 9 month old pup.....He has impressed me almost as much as his big brother (Image) at that age.Time will tell but he has got me fired up and looking forward to this spring.

The blue ninja snuck up and assassinated them. It was TOUGH last night.

Here is a picture of the prodigy early in the season with about a 20# hog.

This pup sure has impressed me over the past few months.

The x-ray on the leg didnt come out as I was expecting.Due to me being off of the cane now and showing some improvement my Dr.did agree to give it another six weeks and another x-ray and go from there but the bone growth just isn't there like he was expecting.Probably gonna have to remove the rod and do it again.Hoping for better results in March.

I am on my yearly trip to South Carolina now and we stopped at Craig Cooper's Monday night and hunted Baby Six.After a lot of thought I made the decision to let Craig buy my half of her.I have Prodigy there,Ty to start this summer,and no end in sight for this leg.Craig is right,she is to nice of a female to lay around and go to waste.I wish you the best with her and I hope you enjoy her to the fullest.Gonna miss the ole girl but it is the best thing for her.I just can't hunt her right now and she needs campaigned.

Thanks again Craig and good luck with her.I know you'll enjoy her.

I have an appointment with a specialist at the Orthopedic Trauma Center at the Cleveland Clinic tomorrow to look at my leg.This Dr.'s special study and interest is mal-union and non-union breaks(which is what my leg is)so hopefully he can get me fixed up and on the mend.I'm hoping he has other ideas rather than replacing the hardware and starting over but at this point,I'm open for about anything and excited to hear his recommendations.Spring is coming and this has went on way to long.Looking forward to getting the young dog out and in the timber again but we'll have to wait and see how tomorrow goes.....I'll keep you guys posted.

This is a video of the blue ninja from a couple nights ago. We turned him across a cornfield covered in water. Into a woods that was flooded with ankle to knee deep water all through it. He made short work of this coon. Done a nice job on it.

Good seeing you at the hunt lastnight & Good to see you in good sprits with everything you`ve been through with your Leg.
Sounds like the guys on your cast really liked the Prodigy for being 10 months old and turning the crank and lifting the eyebrows is nothing but good.
I wish the best for you and You are in my prayers for your next surgery.I don`t know if I ever met a guy that like`s to hunt like you HARD CORE HUNTER AND HOUNDSMAN.You know the saying ITS HARD TIO KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN.
You`ll be back soon.

Keep Tom in your prayers not many Die Hard Hunter`s,Houndsmen like him.

Thanks Matt.I also need to thank the two guys on my cast,Matt Wireman and Mr. Bruce.They didn't mind me being a bit slow and even helped me lead Prodigy out one drop.I really enjoyed the evening last night.We had a great hunt and it felt good to be back out there again.

Packing my bags and headed to Cleveland tonight.Surgery is scheduled for 6am tomorrow.Hopefully this will be the last one and the leg will heal.Not looking forward to it but ready to get it over.Gonna be up there all week by myself but I'll have my cell phone with me.All calls will be greatly appreciated.Would love to hear some BLUEDAWG stories to help pass the time.I'll post on the thread for updates......Talk to y'all in a few days.

Thanks guys.The surgery went well so now it's back to the waiting game and letting it mend.Hopefully it will mend back together this time around and all will be good to go.I like the facility up here and I'm very impressed with this Dr.and his staff.Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I'm taking it easy for a while Paul.Can't do much for about a month until the cuts on my leg are closed up completely.Infection is gonna be my biggest issue right now,but it is doing great so far.Starting on my therapy this week and will work on it pretty regular for at least another 3 weeks before I can consider even riding along in the truck and listening.Really need to be careful and watch for infection until the incisions are closed and healed up.

It is good to hear you're at home & in the mending mode. I wish you a speedy & successful recovery! I know you've been through the ringer the past 15 months, but you've still got that spunk! Keep on keepin on Tom! In the meantime, I'll keep my little monkey faced buddy Tommy Two Toes in the woodlots this week, gotta get him to where he may just make you smile the next time you see him. Got a great report from the Cleveland Clinic today.Removed the stitches,got the green light to get off of this cane ASAP,can now get the leg wet(shower without wrapping it)and was also told to walk all that I could.The Dr. said I can even mow my own grass and coonhunt if I thought I was able to (with a brace).Wont be long now,Prodigy and I are both about ready to get after it and try our luck a little.All are extremely happy with the progress so far.
