Thanks ya'll. We had a great week of pleasure hunting and looked at a few coons. Weekend didn't turn out so well. Guided Harry Pradon and Sender in the mini-slam Thursday night and she won the cast but got bumped from the final 4 by the last cast to come in.

Good lookn dog on the tree Jv

Deer Camp --Hunters?

Bobby and I along with a pair of these Jet bred purina fed blue dogs were invited up to a deer club to introduce the uneducated to what this sport is all about. We were treated to a steak supper. Based on the number of spent rounds and hulls scattered about the grounds I for one was glad to have missed those festivities. There were enough tags on vehichles from in an around Atlanta and Georgia Tech hats that I knew we had all the ingrediants for a doozy of a night. Every type of knife, boot and flashlight set out behind Bobby and I and the dogs. Once the dogs stuck a barage of questions were entertained. We did managed to get the four or five that took off in that direction back with the group-so they too could ask their fair share of questions. Poor Bobby got the one guy that recently had read Where the red fern grows-and then had read on the internet how to skin a coon which he proceeded to tell everyone who cared to listen or didn't- how this was done. We managed to tree two big boar coons much to the rowdy crowds delight. The designated shooter got a lot of instructions. They caught on to the squaller and can you see his eyes?-real quick-cause by the second one they were all asking. Oh what a night!

Ed

I had the pleasure of visiting with Ed last night @ 12:30. He brought a pup down for me from Scott Phillips. It was a short but extra nice visit with a great friend. I was happy to see him doing so good. Talked to him this evening, he said he had beed up for 36 hours. He is a tough customer!

Last week it seemed as if nothing was going right. This week -so far-just the opposite-everythings going right. Dogs that couldn't come up with a coon to save their lives are now manufacturing them left and right-mostly up that is. Enjoyed several calls from different areas of the country-old stuff getting stirred up again-no need to defend me-if it did not make any difference back then-it sure won't make any now. I hope everyone enjoys their dogs and hunting as much as I do-my buddies will not believe me completly after they have spent the night listening to me fuss-but I do. If we are honest with ourselves and others then we can look back one day and be glad we were a part of all of this. I tell my boys-if you think about doing something and think it is wrong-it most likely is -don't do it! Just checked the forecast and it is supposed to get dark again tonight-best day of my life so far.

CW, glad you having a good week. As for the past, I wasnt involved in the 20th century, just down here in the south corner minding my own business, coonhunt'n and rasing a family. The 21st century comes along and I am told, you need to get more involved. Well I have. I am not rich, I am not important, I dont have the time to run all over the country to hunts (wish I did and admire those that do). I have never took a position in anything unless I could give it 100% and truely thought I could do a good job at it. That being said, the way I have been snubbed by the last 2 administrations ( not zone officers ), I am just about to the point of keeping my money in my pocket.

OK, now I got that out, lets get back to hunt'n.

Ed-headed North

Just returned home from meeting Ed at I-75. Four pups left here headed with him to Michigan--what the future holds for these pups-the pups themselves will have to determine. They were acting right and tormenting my cat--to date that has proven to be the formula for success around here. So if any of you are around Ed's and he refers to a pup as CW-just remind him they are Jet bred. He tends to forget their names--so I just tell him--Jet -I call them Jet. Have made the drive from here to Ed's many times but do not envy them this night. This week just kept gettting better-treeing coons every night-young female looking like she wants to make a dog with a BIG mouth-time will tell. Had some interesting calls of late-do appreciate hearing from folks-this is a enjoyable medium but a good ole phone call once in a while is pretty good ,too. Time to hit it hard here because the leaves will be out before you know it. The VA Doc says "What ever you are doing-keep at it !" Told him-thats a big 10-4 You can bet your BP I will. Took over a year to get back to this point health wise-best day of my life so far!

Scott & Maddy

Way to go-been waiting on this. Extra nice especially considering the health problems -she has come thru with flying colors-now proudly joins the ranks of her ever growing number of brothers and sisters who have and are earning more titles. I hope you have another one that has just arrived via Ed's truck. The double 6 Again pups I sent up there were acting real good down here. These Ga. to Mich. and Mich. to Ga. transfers have been working for a number of years and I hope these will as well. Scott remind Ed-it ain't correct to call female pups CW-he does have one male I sent-he might get stuck with the name for a little while anyway lol. Looking forward to hunting with you, Maddy and the rest this spring-Again way to go! How does grand night Maddy sound to you?

Looked good

I drew Scott and Maddy on saturday night at Bellevue and she did a real good job. This was the first time I got to hunt with a six-again dogand it was a pleasure, she stayed clean which is more than I can say for the off colors and stayed under her coon, I listened from the truck most of the night and I had no problem hearing her super mouth, congradulations Scott nice hound.
