Do that early Rex. 4-wheeler crossing? I need to climb on the roof of my barn and start replacing those nails with screws. All the storms we had has loosen the nails and this time I am replacing them with screws. Figure it would take me about 4-5 days to get all them.

its big enough to get a truck across..when I ran the backhoe back and forth last weekend I cut some ruts....Mike I've replaced some screws on metal barn roofs..it pays to use stainless steel screws if you can find them...they are a little more pricey ,but you will only have to put them in once.....

I survived the heat today gang-- too tell the truth I believe it was worse yesterday, no breeze yesterday. Got done today by 10:30am but had to load for tomorrow, and was soaked by the time I got done. Gettin' a early start tomorrow and hope to finish early. Blowin' a hose is bad enough now you get to fight the weather. You'll forget all about it when you get the big buck. Jeff if you don't get cured get a hold of "GRANNY CLAMPITT" I'm sure she's got something for hoof to mouth. Be careful on the roof Mike as hot as it is you may cook your goose.

Posted by Rex W Sims on 07-22-2011 12:27 AM:

glad to hear you made ,TD. ..I'am going back to put the hose on now..then set the live trap..got a stray cat chasing the yard rabbits...

Here kitty kitty kitty!!!!!!!!!!!----good thing you aint got no RR tracks. Hey Mike I was readin' the other thread if you feel 48 then remember--your only as old as you feel. That Dr. you had must have put some bionic parts in you. If you get to climbin' after squirrels and not shootin' 'em then you'll know.

Posted by Mike Milam on 07-22-2011 01:02 AM:

Think I will stay with shooting them. Just as long as I don't cook the log. Rex those stainless screws you told me to use do the have the rubber ring on them?

Posted by Rex W Sims on 07-22-2011 02:04 AM:

mike the ones I got had a fiber washer on them..they didn't leak and the fiber washer wouldn't rot out like the rubber...got the hose on and the trap set....coons came up at 7: 00 ..they are either moving early or they were hungry....good evening Mark...

That's even more clay than here but what I found works real good is that 3 ft tall silt fence they use everywhere on costruction sites whether they put it where it will do some good or they string it at the top of the hill LOL. Whatever, when the grass is established you can get that used stuff for nothing. Don't lay a long strip down each rut, though that will help some but what works best is cut ten to fourteen ft long pieces and lay them across the whole tworuts like a blanket. Then backfill with rubble if if have it but just a sandy fill works pretty good. Don't level the road before you lay it . It's better to have the road already compacted even if it is rutted. I'm talking avbout the ruts not that it takes the place of a decent size culvert. LOL

thanks lyle...got a 100 foot of that fencing..

Thanks Rex for the information. Just went down to the barn and turned the 50 inch fan off and the box fans are running. This heat is taking a toll on these dogs. I have a Aussie bitch that is pregnant and brought her in and going to keep her in now till the pups are born and they are ready to sale.
