Steve that is my plans. There`s the LA.,AR State hunts early this yr. and then MS and TX later in the yr. hopeing to make all 4.

was going to come with and get entered in the nite hunt. But I figure with him not coonhunting for awhile Im better off not hunting him. And not being 1 year old yet on top of it he is better off not getting entered. Wish you could see him go. You would be proud of that dog. He doesnt have a mean bone in him except when he gets a whiff of those bears. We have never shot a coon out to him and he keeps on treeing every time. You sure did right by breeding Daisy to Bo. Ill have some video with me showing him though. You will enjoy it Im sure. If I can get him out for a week before the hunt, I might change my mind and bring him. Take care my friend.

Here's how my week went. Mon. went to sleep early from the long weekend. Blow out on the truck, winning the hunt, Etc., never mind grading test from school. Tuesday my wife has class in the evenings after work so I have to cook ,clean, and take care of 16 goats, 9 dogs, 4 pups, and 4 horses by myself. Wednesday High School basketball team had a game, won regionals. Thursday had Gideons meeting to discuss distrubing the Good Word/ the BIBLE. Then Friday talked to the people we are buying the house from to find out his dad came in and they found some stuff that needed fixing we hadn't figured on. So the rest of the weekend I spent over there trying to get my house ready to move into, since we had extra repairs and only a few weeks to do them. As you can see I am a very busy and productive person, hence the reason I said, hopefully. I was trying to be nice since I beat you with Kitty but I don't have to give you a thing. So be patient.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some Vid. of him. I've got to check but I think I might have found an old buddy of mine to go hog hunting with. He first went coonthunting with me at 10 yrs. old. He's all into hog hunting and I caught his dad who is one of the big guys at the local bank and got his cell #. His dad says he goes about every sat. morning. Working on the house and hope it's ready too. It may be a bit of a long weekend trying to fit it all in but it sure should be fun. Hopefully, that'll make up for some of the expense of the drive. Be careful on the drive.

If you want to try and get a hog hunt in that would great. If not, thats OK also. We dont have to be back for anything so once we there its no big hurry to leave. It kinda sucks that the gas is so high. If I go under 60 I can get 20.5 mpg so thats what Ill do. If my brother lets me use his little Ford wagon i will get 30 to 35 mpg. If we hog hunt Ill bring my bow I think. Dont care if I bag one but it would be fun going after them. I see i wont need a license for hog. Ill be talking to you before too long and thanks again for Kid Rock and Dozer also. Youll have to come and watch them on bear sometime. If you need anything on the way down there just hollar and Ill get it for you.

Good just busy. Thanks man. Finishing her to NtCh and qualifying for the world all in one hunt was sure nice. It didn't take to long but from what everyone had said about Kitty I really thought she would make it there fairly quickly. It's just a shame to me it took this long for her to ever even see a hunt. I'm just thankful for all the others that have hunted her though the years. All a handler does in my eyes is take them to the woods and call them for what they do. So to me the credit goes to all the ones that did the hard work before I got her. I should be able to call everyone this week on the pups, so time will tell, on them.

If a hound will hunt out pretty well I always had pretty good luck at the Oklahoma State hunt too. Both of ours fit the bill on hunting out. I might even throw in Mo. if things are looking good. Guess I need to check all the dates for the hunts and see how they fall.

Sometimes you have to wait for things to be right in the here after, which is hard for me at times I admit, but every now and then it happens in the here and now. Just goes to show who is really in charge, The Good Lord.

I found

a female to pick up while Im down there. Its coming from Larry Stringer. That will give us 2 females and I wont be so nervous about hunting them like I was when there was only one. I know how you felt about hunting Daisy and worrying about her all the time. It just about drives a person crazy doesnt it. We will try to get a chance to coonhunt before or after the sectional. If you dont mind we can take Dozer along also. If we dont have time thats ok also. Im glad to be getting away for a few days and enjoying myself. Take care and will see you in a couple weeks.

Yeah kinda makes ya think twice about turning them loose when ya just have one. Of course with Daisy she is really irreplaceable to me becuase of her bloodlines. Now with her sister I won't be quite as worried but I still would much rather have pups out of Daisy. She just came to the whole thing so natural, from the start. I mean how many hounds their 20th. time to the woods can hang with finished competition hounds. Sounds good on turning Dozer loose. He hasn't been out in about a year now. I hate it but just really had no choice.

Taking out the young ones.

Well I took some of the young ones out last night. Took my Holly (Bo x Daisy) and Queen (Rowdy x Music) females out, after church. Queen was treeing pretty well but was winding out from the tree, she needs a good bit more handling. I think I'm putting her in the yard so she can be messed with everyday for a while. She still is just kind of different. Holly was treeing some, not hard, but when the coon fell out it was game on, she piled right in there. Think I'll take Holly and Sister (Lightin x Speed Queen) tonight. I sure like starting young ones. However, it's nice to have a trusty one like Kitty around to just go tree some coons.

Took out Holly and Sister (Lightin x Speed Queen) the other night. Boy that Sister has got some hunt to her. Turned one loose for the young dogs. Holly treed it up. Sister was right in there with her. Holly isn't by no means a coon dog but she is starting to figure things out. I'm just not 100% sure of her hunting as far as I like. Of course she's only been out 3 times but she seems to more of a medium range dog which isn't usual for mine. This Sister pup though is a get gone dude. When I'm pleasure hunting, and Kitty knows the difference for sure, there are times when I see more of Kitty than Sister. This was just Sisters 2nd. time to the woods.

like you are having fun with the pups Steve. I think thats what I enjoy the most about hunting the dogs. These Red dogs are pretty much trash free and that makes it alot easier. Kid Rock is still doing good but have not had him out because of the conditions. Hes ready to go and is getting restless. Ill be getting him and Dozer ready for bear season by roading them with the ATV. Cant wait to see those two go this summer. Its gonna be a good time. I hope Dozer doent try and kill a bear like you say he does a coon ..The dogs do pull a the bear off a tree before he can climb alot of the times. That is something to see. See ya next week.

Hopefully, the weather will clear for ya before to long. I am sure excited about Dozer getting after a Bear. He is wild on a coon. If he tries that on a Bear you may really have a show. Luckily, he has the thickest hide of any hound I've owned. You'll almost bend a needle trying to give him shots. However, those claws and teeth are sure worse on a Bear.
I'll call ya today. Just found out, this weekend, the people we are getting the house from are going to have to replace the entire septic system so we won't be closed on the 15th. as we were going to. Things keep coming up with closing on the house. The closing was supposed to be finished in Dec. as you know. O well I'm just glad it's all getting finished now instead of me having to fix it later. We can still keep all of you. Just got to do some creative housing.

Sounds good Steve.They turned her brother lose the other day & he went 800 some odd yards by himself that was his first time ever in the woods.

I need to call u just been under ther weather but will get it done before to long.

That's more of what I'm used to for even young hounds. There again it's not that they are running past stuff around here. It's becuase alot of places have some pretty thin coon and they just have to go that far to get treed. Of course if they hit one right in front of me and blow it up that's fine too. However, I want them to naturally go until they hit one. Some things if it's not just in them then I don't teach it to em. I want stuff that anyone could turn loose in the woods and they will naturally do it so all they need is a little teaching and they are ready for the hunts. I like naturals and that's why I contacted you about this cross of yours. I really don't see why it can't be for us like it is for some of the bird hunters where basically they naturally do what they should. All you have to do is take them to the woods and teach them how you want it done, not what to do.
