SNOW IN MD? OH MY! Bit cooler here today and we just started a fire cause I can't stay warm.... FLowers still popping up everywhere and we are so excited to see how much LIVED thru the winter that we put in the ground last yr! And yeah...DARNED DEER!

Ankle doing even better today...I was real good yesterday after a lil walkabout i kept it UP the rest of the day and night. Today I was good too.

Has everone jus fallen off the face of the earth?? I got up early this morning and my wife got up not much later. She went to go let our site 2 Jack Russells out to do their business. She came back in and said a turkey was gobbling across the road and up the fountain. I grabbed my call and called. Right away it gobbled back. I got suited up & headed up the mtn a ways. Got settled in and called. He called right back about 150yds away. Next thing I know a coyote comes runnin across the ravine next to me on a diagonal path down towards the road. I guess he was about 50 yds or so from me. I shot one time & rolled him like a pair of dice. Wasnt no Gobbler, but I'll take it. They normally arent easy to kill. English Bob

After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday away from school.
One child wrote the following:
We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa.
They used to live in a big brick house but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Batemans Bay where everyone lives in nice little houses, and so they don't have to mow the grass anymore!
They ride around on their bicycles and scooters and wear name tags because they don't know who they are anymore.

They go to a building called a wreck center, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now. They do exercises there, but they don't do them very well.

There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with hats on.

At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out, and go cruising in their golf carts!
Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And, they eat the same thing every night --- early birds.

Some of the people can't get out past the man in the doll house. The ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center for pot luck.
My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too.

When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out, so they can visit their grandchildren.

All well here. Foot still quite sore, ankle less. Of course I twisted it Sunday at mums.. Oh Yeah.. that felt awesome (NOT!).... Bob's hand way better, elbow sore from all the work he did here over the weekend getting the garden ready. We PLANTED 2 kinds of carrots and some beets last pm! THe beginning of Bob's new garden! No more raised garden...the old "ugly gardens" are gone!
Across from my Mums house as I was sitting at the dining table I discovered...A NESTING RED TAILED HAWK! I got nothing done watching. Pretty sure I saw the female lay an egg! WAY COOL... then one of the pair fought off a grey squirrel! It was about 1/2 hour battle...very odd! The sq. kept trying to climb up the pine past the nest and the hawk would flap like mad! Of course my Cam SUX and only gets good macro pix.. go figure! Brandons room however has a balcony just across from nest and he has a prof. cam with amazing zoom and I told him I'd pay for film and processing if he gets pix thru nesting! Pretty exciting in the city!
OK... got a ton of catching up to do on here...been too long! TOnight we plan to move a couple raspberry bushes and then grill some burgers. It's cool but SPRING is HERE! Have a good one, talk to y'all later, HappyHunting! Heather
