No excuse for not hunting the last two days

Great weather all week long. I will drop something tonight just not sure who or how many. All dogs have looked great so far.

Hunted with Terry Estill and Charlie Wyatt

Terry has his Spud male and a young female off Rebel I do believe. I hunted Magic and Charlie had Image.
First drop all dogs stuck but the young female two dogs treed but Magic wasn't satisfied with the tree and kept searching. Tree was slick. They cut dogs back in and finally after a long search for trees in the area. Spud treed and all dogs backed him. Coon seen. Rebel female stayed out with the dogs but that was about it.
Next drop dog ran into a hole then came out of that and went into a junk pile. We called it a early night.

Not a great hunt but we got it done.

Should be some good games tonight! We are suppose to get rain the next 4 days in a row before I leave out for Grand Nationals. I might have to turn loose in the the rain this week. Maggie is ready!

Took Maggie out for some alone time!

First drop 425 yard 4 barks bang treed with the meat. I petted her up real good.

Second drop Maggie went 900 yards with no strike and she finally came in. I called it a night. Figure better no push my luck. She is ready for Grand Nationals I think!

Maggie and I didn't do any good at all. Just wasn't meant to be I guess.
I did meet a lot of great people and hoped I gained a few friends in the process.

Grand Nationals was tough but that is the way it is suppose to be!

I will do my best to finish these males this year.

I hope my fire stays strong in finishing all my dogs. All are well deserved and are capable of winning anywhere. I hope to prove that in time.
None of my males as of now have had a chance to breed a female yet. I'm positive they will produce good track and treedogs that will have a coon at the end.
Time will tell.

Got Magic back from a overnight vet visit. He is sore but doing good! There is a lot of hunts coming up. I have to get my priorities straight. Man it is tough when I'd rather be dancing on he weekends and hunt during the week. I will figure it out at some point or just sell some dogs. Who knows.

I had Maggie and Chris hunted his walker male Slick he has 4 wins to grand. We got a brush pile and den tree. We called it a night. Slick has no reverse and it was midnight.

So hunting is out. Sylvester is picked in the top 20 first round so he and I and family will celebrate when we find out where he will go.

To sit and watch this young man wait for is phone call and his reaction was all worth the 3.5 hours of waiting. Unbelieveable how these things unfold.
He goes to Denver which is a great place to start. Sylvester Williams is a good humble young man. I wish him well.

80 plus degrees here today and by the end of the week 40's and 50s. There are going to be a lot of sick people with this up and down stuff. Hay fever is kicking some butt around work for sure.

Went for one drop

Took Sounder and Maggie. Sounder struck right away on a water ditch and Maggie joined him. They worked and worked that track and .6 miles later they treed in a big tree and I found no coon. I said screw it and came home. It was still 80 degrees. I don't remember the last time Sounder missed a coon but he missed this one. Neither one of the dogs wanted to settle on the tree.
