I'm more then ready. Afraid I might leak and take on water though. They been poken holes in me and runnin out of room for new spots. Should get to go home this afternoon and will be in the timber tonight.

My wife Sherrie called to let me know the Grand-Sons are takin good care of my pups. They got out the 4 and the 6 month old pups out of Turk and they are runnin and treein barn cats right and left. Sherrie said they are all havin a blast, boys and pups not so much for the cats. Nothin better for raisen pups then Grand-Kids. Them boys will have those pups leading, loading , showing and treeing before they go to the woods every night with the old dogs. Just wish them boys lived down here rather then in the city. Ain't much better for them boys then the country and coon hound puppys, sure beats pokin around on I phones and video games.

Been getting some calls on Wendy's last litter, they are a bunch of go getters, staying with the old dogs all the way to the tree. Some are even treeing with the old dogs, some are being squirrell hunted withm success all things taken to account they are doing great for 5 mos old.

Danny Feris called to tell me about his Turk x Crystal pup, said that the pup stayed with Moe all the way on two drops, hates a coon he is 4 mos old. Danny has a couple of pups from Turk and NTN CH Penny that he might sell , they are 3 mos old, his number is 660-679-1129.

Turk is putting a lot of fire and desire in his pups. Smoke should sire pups with the same fire and desire and looks to burn. People will be reading about Smoke pups in the not to distant future..........Tim

Hunt

Tim. We took the weekend off I hunted all last week and had decent or less than huntin. Thursday night after dad got home from thehospital we treed 3. Robins lookin really good. Been huntin her byherself and huntin some hedge rows and thinner coon pop. And she has been covering alot of ground to find one. She hunts out one holler and heads to the next fast. She been going over a mile several times to get a track struck and waist no time doin it. Really advancing well for a 2 yr old.

Had a good hunt

New Years eve with my daughters boyfriend and his son. Smoke slammed one on Robin and had two coon swingin. We let Bryans son shoot it out, it was his first. Next dump we just turned out Robin and she went in 780 yards before she struck. She treed about 130 yards from the other road and we found her in a hollow log locked up with a big ole boar coon. Quite the event for a little while till we could get her out.

Working around home catching up on things and building a new kennel. I'm pretty proud of it. 30 x 50 all under one roof. It has 12 pens and will have a feed shed and whelping house that is airconditioned and heated for two bitches at a time. Also has a puppy pen.

Mighty hard to tell the difference between them all three up on the tree. All three dogs looked good and treed on a night that the coon just weren't moving all that good. Like Timmy said, dogs that can tree by the truck or go deep for the meat.
We not only enjoyed the hunt but we also enjoyed talking dogs with you and Paul.

I could either convince the coons to go up close to the truck or go up deep where I can drive to them with the truck, lol. These moonlit nights the coons see me and say "he needs the walk" so they go to the middle of the section and go in a hole.Hope things are going great and looking forward to getting down there for a hunt...Jay.

jay, dont worry treein coons has been pretty tuff around here. Last night I took robin by herself she went about a half and just fell treed. It was a big den. Next dump didnt even get a bark. I gathered her up after she went about a mile. I was huntin a river. Thought I might catch one movin around but no luck.

Tim, it's been tough treeing coon in this area for six weeks. We have been treeing coon most nights but not lots of coon every night. Coon weren't traveling far from home. Breeding season should be here and with a dark moon the coon treeing should get better.

Nice kennel, had a man that was going to build one for me but he could never find time.

Coon

should start rut anytime around here.
Seems like most of the trees we are making right now are all dens. Each night out it takes a lot of huntting to tree more than two or three on the outside.
Can't wait for some of those long old boar races to start. Plus we have a couple of young pups to start and the rut will help.
Can't gripe any, most years we are shut up in the house this time of year. The weather has been great so far and after this cold spell this weekend huntting should get better.

the temps are the same here. We have had high winds and a skif of snow. Stayed in the last two nights but might try it tonight.
Need to take ole Smoke, he hasn't been out for over a week now. Been just huntin the girls.

Vickey Perkins from Wis. and her pup Moon Dog Barley Ray ( Mad Dog Blue Rooster II X GrCh Mad Dog Sweet Pea III ) just won Show Dog of the year at the Wis. Sport Dog Asso. last night. Barley Ray made Champion before he was a year old. And made Grand Champion by the time he was 14 months old. Needless to say he is a good lookin sucker plus he is a coon dog and will be in the hunts this spring. Vickey and Brian said that Barley Ray is coon loco and runs with his head up and is super fast on track and one heck of a tree dog. Vickey promised me some pics as soon as she gets her computer fixed.

Tim, that is no joke about Smoke needing a garmin, Robin is getting the same way. Several times she has gone over a mile looking for a track. Garmins are a must here.

Bill Kennel from Wis. called and is comming this weekend to get thier Smoke pup and wanting a few more Turk pups if we can gather them up.

Getting close

to the end of season and I get a call every day from someone wanting a young started dog. Just don't have any for sale and I really don't know of any one that wants to sell one either. Everybody is wanting a young dog out of Turk or Smoke. We have had some pups but they were too young for the timber.

Had a really good hunt again last night, seems that the boar coon are starting to sniff around. They should be runnin hard by this time next week.

Took Breeze ( Turk X Wendy) out last night and for her second night out she did very well. First dump she went all the way and was at the tree when we got there. Next dump we crossed some big water and she stayed a little closer to us on that one. Last dump she would go with the dogs 300 to 400 yards and then we would catch up and she would stay with us for a ways and off she would go. She acts really good and is allways sniffing around plus she aint one bit scared of water. Hope she makes a good one.

Tell Bill we are bringing a truck load of pups!!!!!haha
Pups out of Turk and Smoke seem to be in high demand right now. Problem is the supply is low. I know of 4 Turk pups and only one out of Smoke.
I know of four different guys wanting started dogs but don't know of any for sale.
