I guess that's why they don't minus slick trees anymore .there's nothing in the tree so it's obvious they didn't climb the tree ,what about the slick lay up i guess nothing climbed that tree either so no minus. What if they caught a skunk,it didn't climb a tree so I guess you score it as if they were not there. Can anyone not see how rediculous this is.What if you just scored it as if you were pleasure hunting, oops you would have to be honest and score what the dog actually did. Then you might get some minus points,NOT.It don't matter how he got there you score what's in the tree or not.If he's got a coon you don't have to figure out how he got there,of coarse if he's not there you'll hear a million reasons why and where he might have gone.Just,PLEASE NO MINUS POINTS.

Now that rationale and just about everyone hunting off buckets are the major reasons why the Champions both Night and Grand are just average dogs at best and junk at worst. Dave

This kind of describes the society we live in today, a win is a win mentality. No concept of HONOR and morality, I can truly say I am grateful that I do not think like that. I do not want to win by deceit, how could any one value some thing that is a lie or fake. Any man without Honor is not much of a man period. Dave

Dang Karen lighten up, this thread was all in fun! It was about cat’s, pickles, cucumbers a duck an a flying coon.
Go Google something that will make you look smart an leave your uneducated opinions there.

How did y'all get from pickles, buzzards and cats to honor?

Truth

Tar was exactly right when he said some folks just can not handle the TRUTH. If the shoe fits, I am talking to you, if not just ignore my post. Dave

Come on fellas, give these snowflakes a fighting chance. If you don’t know how a real one operates you settle with one that makes you look like you know what your doing

Well if there is nothing in the tree except the turkey it's still minus so I don't understand this. I didn't say my feelings either way just saying the logic that is used on something that flies into the tree.

If it's slick it's still slick.

LOL - a house cat cost me a win and finishing a dog to Grand once years ago (at least that hunt).. Did finish him later.. Scratched on the first drop after first strike, tree and shutting the entire cast out..

Was puffed up like a big red rooster walking into that tree.. Slithered out back to the truck with my head held pretty low LOL..

Current hound I own has developed an affinity for house cats this past year.. He's treed a few..I've not broke him on them as I intend to take him on a lion/bobcat hunt out west and figure it's good training !!

Just need one more cast win to Grand and we will see if history bites me in the butt again!!

Hammering Earl was leading his cast by a bunch on the late round Fri night at the UKC World when he got treed by himself again. He was treed on a fence row next to a 300 acre cornfield without a house for miles around. As the cast got to the tree, the non hunting judge said, "I got him plus him up". As his owner leashed him up, a house cat ran down the tree and jumped out right in front of the cast. Earl was scratched from the cast and it cost him another final four and possibly the World Championship.

I don’t know which is worse, treeing a house cat the first 15 minutes or the Last 15 minutes either way after a year or so it’s just funny.
