-- Alpha vs dogtra .... (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928531036)
Walter,
good to hear from a Houndsman from across the big pond!! I think all systems are challenged at times on distance.. Now, with the trees in full foliage I struggle to get much more than 800-900 yards with my Garmin Alpha.. With the long range antenna I can get a good bit further (mounted on my truck).. I suspect it would be the same with your dogtra.. My opinion however..
What do you all hunt over yonder? trail hounds I assume?
Knox - Now you've jinxed me.. no one ever agrees with me 100%. You must be crazy!! LOL

Beautiful pics, dogs and country Walter!! I was an avid upland bird hunter for many years. Hunting Pheasant, quail, woodcock and grouse (our version of partidge) here in the states.. Was blessed with a couple of good brittany's and a passable german short hair..
Hunting a good pointing dog is a true pleasure!!
