I have thought this for quite some time. There needs to be some changes made as the UKC hunts have lost some hunters and participation because most of the breeds reps are up in their yrs and are not from the younger generation and want to keep as it has always been. When you have breed reps that take a vote at their general meeting then change their members vote at the rules committee and vote opposite on rules then what their members voted for in the general membership meetings the system is flawed.

I like the 1 hour hunts but I don’t like the $30 entry fee.

I thought the one hour minie slams where you were winning $$$ was why the $30 entry. I would not pay $30 to hunt one hour in a standred ukc hunt it would cost you $60 to hunt in a double header. For just cast wins.

Last week we hunted a 1 hour hunt, took 3 dogs that’s $90 bucks to hunt 1 hour then 2 of our dogs was on same cast, we got a cast win and they said Thanks for coming.

Imo ridiculous for a club to charge $30 for a regular hunt. Clubs that are doing this are ripping their participants. Though they make some money doing this their long term survival will be limited if their base gets fed up, many will. The $30 entry should be for a slam where you have a chance to win $, not just a win slip. State Championships, and larger events $30 entry is the norm but again you have the chance to win something not just a win.
