No problem you are wright we should all stand together against people like this. I have a question for ya can a club refuse to let a person enter a hunt if they are always causing trouble in every cast they'er in?

Yes sir a club can vote to refuse entry from anyone, most clubs will contact that person and tell them they are barred for one year and it will be brought back to vote after that year is up.

This needs to happen more often these kind of people cost the club money/attendance numbers. i've been told at two different clubs after getting drawn out to watch that guy he's a crook that tells me the club knows how he is.

That may be true, but it is also true that people that lack dog power tend to spread rumors and be jealous of those that win consistently and claim they have to be cheating. Also, people that don't understand the rules tend to say that about people that do understand the rules because they can't understand why they were minused or whatever. I would take anything like that with a grain of salt as it may or may not be true LOL.

I do agree that clubs should refuse entry to known troublemakers when it is true though.

Some are good some are bad. Hate that you got a bad one. I was in a major hunt and everbody drove. On the way to the woods, my battery light came on and headlights kept getting dimmer and dimmer. Guide took us through a town and we stopped at Auto Zone. I bought an alternator and they helped me put it on. Then we proceeded to the woods and had a great hunt. No one should let one bad experience keep them from hunting. You are just denying yourself all of the good ones.

What happened to the vehicle he was driving making his video?

Exactly how many dogs did they hunt at the Grand American? Both nights?

I drawed a 4 dog cast at Orangeburg one year 3 well known handlers one was guide and judge while we were waiting on him the other two was giving me the low down on how crooked and awful the judge was. When the hunt started the other two showed out and whined the whole hunt and the judge was a perfect Gentleman.

Sad that we are having this discussion, what has happened to get us in these situations? I still believe in the good of all mankind, but 3 handlers in the same cast that are that selfish doesn't bode well for my judgement. I sincerely hope that was a fluke and not the norm, it certainly is not in my neck of the woods. Dave

I don’t hunt the hunts much anymore, about twenty years ago i said if i cant drive my on truck i wont go. The last time i gave a ride i said thats the last time. Call me unsportsman like, call me a prick, but its not my responsibility to provide transportation to your handler mich less the liability if i should wreck. My last experience giving someone a ride is the closest i ever came to putting someone out on the side of the road.

Nobody said it was. I was just commenting on how sad it was that out of 3 people nobody would give him a ride. Never saw that before. It is understood at most of the big hunts people ride there together and I have always given rides freely, never even ask for gas but many give me gas money anyway. Heck in some states I get drawn out with Amish or Mennonites and I will give them a tracking collar. It's not my responsibility but why would I not want to do someone a favor?

It's not my responsibility, but I do it because I understand being there with only one vehicle and if it were me I would want to be treated well.

Of course if you are going with responsibility, it's not my responsibility to find a coon either unless my dog is treed on the tree.........I mean if we are going that direction might as well go all the way.

That said a member of this board stated that if they had hung around a little longer he would have gotten him a ride. I believe he would have. That is appreciated and will be remembered. That guy gets a hard time on this board at times but that shows he is an OK guy in my book. I don't know how much good it would have done though cause they left as soon as they got the card, but the sentiment is what counts. I just found out about that offer and I believe it was a legitimate one too, but the logistics of it would not have worked out.

The very least that should have been done was for that cast to have waited a reasonable amount of time, giving him a chance to find a ride. Very POOR sportsmanship , these things should be addressed prior to cast being drawn. Dave

This happened at the Grand American the year Cory Sproul won it with Handsome Mo (2012 i think) . I rode with Cory and had another friend with us who also got a cast win Friday night with a good score and was refused a ride Saturday night. Theres two sides to every story but this is no way to beat a guy and his dog.

Tonight at my club there were a lot of hunters both pleasure and competition that were mad about this and they are planning a boycott. I dont know you personally RIP but rest assured you have a good guy for a handler.

He was on facebook pitching a bitch about it and the fact was pointed out he never offered gas money to anyone he never waited for the club rep or scorecard nor go see the MOH He told them fine withdraw me and left. You can read it on southern cooner

It wouldn't have mattered anyway. There is no rule that would force a competitor to take you to the woods nor would I want one. It is 100% up to the good graces of those you draw.

I just never thought fellow houndsmen would do this, not all three. Maybe one but not three.

Heck we are the only sport where the judge is also a competitor and in good spirit of competition we are expected to be fair even though our dog is involved.

I always felt our sport was different, that we had more of a kinship of following hounds.

Obvously I and many others do but some will win at all costs, and occasionally three of them will be on the same cast LOL.

I bet that cast had problems all night if I was a bettin man.

Nope they a a good hunt and cast winner come back to hunt in final 4 believe they scored 700+
