I have only ever seen 1 flying squirrel and it was dead.

I have seen as many as a half dozen on any given night in my area. I don't know if that is a lot or not. What I do know is if a dog likes to tree squirrel there is plenty of empty trees and plenty of hours in a night.

I have seen them many times in the aera of Ohio that l live in. They will swoop down at your light at times and you can see them land on the side of the tree. They are out there. Like little flying tree rats.

Walking behind dad one night and one jumped on his back. Only seen one other

I have seen several and dogs will tree them

To answer the original question; I haven't yet but hope to in the near future.

I wouldn't keep shocking him.

3 reasons why I believe Shocking a Hound at the tree doesn't work they way we think it does in most cases. Number one, As soon as our Hounds start Treeing and for a good time after they enter an Adrenaline Mode, during this Adrenaline Mode most Hard Going Hounds DO NOT understand the corrections we are giving them.

"Think of it like this, If someone Greatly Offended us to the point of Physically Fighting,, could we Learn anything in That Moment??? Neither can they, The more Adrenaletic of a Tree Dog = the less they can learn while and after Treeing. This is why scolding to switching works for some and not for others"

Number two, Shocking collars work on AC current , AC current when applied Pulsates Rapidly Scrambling our thoughts Greatly creating Confusion during and After this overflow of electricity, creating the inability to understand. Shocking collars used on a low setting hurts the Hounds neck but when set on To high of a setting it hurts the Neck and Scrambles His or Her mind as well. Each Hound has a different tolerance and peak that should not be exceeded, this is why some Hounds Break easily and other do not.

Number three, What I call Pain Association. After our Hounds have entered Adrenaline Mode they are Expecting a Fight
