Not very many are going to make it, that's kind of the point. They want to recognize the ones that do. A lot of guys will hunt a dog 4 years or so in the hunts. 12 to 13 cast wins a year will earn this title. With double headers that's not a whole lot of hunts and you can earn points on the way.

I don't see the big deal about gr.nt and nt.ch drawing together. In the other kc everyone hunts together whether it's the first hunt a dogs in or there 100th. At least this way the ones that are always having excuses about losing can have a new one. My nt.ch got beat because there was a gr.nt in the cast

1000 dollars

I might be the odd guy out here but I spend 1000 to 1200 a year in entries every year. I hit 6 to 8 hunts a month most of the time I stay with in a 2 hr driving window on ukc hunts. This is not counting chkc or acha hunts. But I just love the comp hunts I love visiting. I dont win all the time but feel I have competitive dogs. I try to keep 2 to 3 hounds hunted up. Yes I still get butterflies before every hunt but would not change it for the world. Ukc decided to change up some rules so I'm going adapt and move on.

Baby steps Bruce, first the hunt format change. They can't change everything at once. There is also a big $150,000 money hunt change that hasn't been unveiled yet. That is next on the list. Just wait until that is announced. Everyone will be able to pick it apart and complain. There is also a big $$$ cash prize for the winner of next year's 2019 UKC World Championship that I am sure that they will get a lot of complaints about.

HONESTLY anymore around here you never get anything but a win slip. For years, clubs gave out trophies. Then we saw a move toward giving plaques. Then leashes and other equipment. Then came the poor boy hunts, which I have no problem with IF you charge a lesser entry fee. The last 2 dogs I granded out, I did not receive a reward of any kind. I MEAN NOTHING. I'm not a fan of trophies and plaques but dang it I want SOMETHING for my money and win. At least when I win in the other KCs, I get some gas money.

Some of you may be all in on this 50 cast win GrNite, I'm not.

I DID have one that won over 200 casts. They call her a Platinum Ch and there was a substantial amount of cash entered my pocketbook along the way.

I hope some of these changes help bring back some people to the hunts and stir up interest. This particular change isn't the one to get it done in my opinion.

I would think the average guy would spend $7-$1000 a year on entries. If that scares you when the other kennel club had the fall superstakes and world hunt back to back. I've spent more in just those 2 weeks. It's like any hobby it cost you get out of it what you put into it.

The new paperwork requires hunt officials to list the dogs with the top 3 cast winning plus point scores. The top 3 only if applicable will receive performance points in decreasing amount from placement 1-3.
So all these cast winners are not receiving points only the top 3 placements and only those that are eligible. Example top 3 dogs only the 3rd place dog is a performance dog, only it will receive points and only the amount given for 3rd place, it would not move up.

Cast wins we have 2 with way more than 50 they are just in the wrong kennel club, non-transferable lol. I would guesstimate both are near GRNITECH 2 here with wins that could be tracked.

Not surprised. There will be some of those MO dogs with quite a few wins, some have been collecting up those MCHF points for years throw in some at Purina events and it gets them up there in recorded wins.
